The first destination of the tour is the Lahbab desert, which is located about 45 mins drive from Dubai city. Lahbab is known for its high dunes that provide an ideal setting for dune bashing in Dubai, where you can take a break and replenish with refreshments and utilize the restroom facilities.

Let me start by saying that we did enjoy this tour, and in fact recommend it. But it could have been better in many ways.

We were picked up from our hotel in a nice white SUV. You will see many such SUVs heading to the desert. We were driving slower than everyone else because of an underinflated tire, but all was generally well.

We arrived at the dunes and had noted that we did not plan to rent quad bikes etc. When we arrived we basically waited in a big common area full of people trying to sell you add ons to the experience. There was limited seating for us, and just a lot of waiting around - for more than an hour.

Then we went dune bashing in the SUV and that was AWESOME. It was thrilling and a bit scary in a good way. It was really exciting. We did some sand boarding as well and everyone was having fun.

We then drove to the camp for dinner. We were again offered to be upsold to a better dinner, better this, better that. Always being upsold.

Dinner was basic but enjoyable enough, without the upgrade. The camel ride was odd, as one of the camp people was yelling at the camel owner as he tried to take my family on a short circular route next to the parking lot.

The show was interesting, especially the fire guy>

All in all an enjoyable evening but with some areas for improvement. Less waiting around and less upselling would be great. As would more dune driving.

Nawaz was amazing, he explained every step of the the desert Safari 🏜. He was extremely attentive and made sure we were well taken care of. Nawaz was personable and protective over his customers making us feel safe... 10 out of 10!
