We absolutely loved this day tour from London. We were picked up at 7:45am in London and rode in a small (but comfortable) van with about 20 others. Our tour guide provided commentary. We stopped at Coggs Farm, which was a 1000 year old farm. This was charming in and of itself, in addition to the Downton connection. Then we traveled to the small town of Bampton, where we toured the old church and town area. It was easy to visualize the filming of the show here. Then we drove a ways through the Cotswolds, which was charming. Our guide commented on the area. We arrived at Highclere Castle, where we had a tour inside some of the rooms that were on the show. Most notably, the staircase, the library, the dining room, the hallway, and several of the upstairs bedrooms. We learned about the history of the castle along side some of the stories about filming of Downton. It was really a good blend of the "show" as well as history of the mansion and its origination. Another surprise was the Egyptian exhibit, which is in the basement. This exhibit was remarkable and quite unexpected. After the tour, we were given a "high tea" luncheon, which included sandwiches, desserts and tea. We could then explore the outside area. We then left Highclere Castle around 4pm and were in London by 6pm. I thought this day was wonderful, and well worth the price. I am a Downton Abbey fan, but there were a few people on the tour that must watch the show multiple times based upon their knowledge of the locations. Overall, this was a wonderful excursion out of busy London which provided a glimpse into the Cotswolds and the beautiful filming locations. Highly recommend. Loved this day trip!!

We had a wonderful day. Went when they had a speaker who did a presentation on Egyptian clothing. It was fascinating. Had 3 boxed teas for lunch which was delightful and more than enough for 5 ppl. People may go to here because of Downtown Abbey. But, you will learn so much more about the people who lived there and the history and how they were part of the story in finding King Tutankhamen. Must go and see.

We took the Small Group Downton Abbey tour from London. The tour was FANTASTIC from start to finish! Amber was such a wonderful guide - entertaining and informative - while giving us the right amount of free time to explore on our own! And Carlos our driver was great at getting us out of the traffic jam in London and on to our tour. It was an ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL DAY! 5 Stars -- I highly recommend if you are in London and are a Downton Abbey fan!

Our guide Amber is the best guide I’ve ever had in 50 years of traveling. She is incredibly engaging, funny, kind, informative AND she knows when to stop talking. What could be better for a Downton Abbey tour than a transplanted American Anglophile with a great sense of drama and humor. She created an environment of camaraderie with the other guests.
The day was jam-packed and delightful - a thrill for Downton lovers.

My daughter and I were on the Full Day excursion. Early start from the British Museum at 7am & off we went with 15 other travelling companions under the guidance of Mike & driver DJ. We could not praise Mike highly enough. He is a mine of current and historical information, delivered at ease throughout our long day. He could place significant events and customs of "Downton Abbey" in context of its time in history and the culture and customs of the day (As we travelled he brought us back as far back as Celtic and Saxon times). A long day, but broken by well timed breaks. We were so pleased with our stop at Cogg's Farm (Yew Tree Farm) (alas service friendly but very slow and the village of Bampton. Only ground & 1st floor of the house available ("Downstairs" is actually filmed in Ealing Studios. Very disappointed having decided to treat ourselves to food at Highclere, food available was extremely poor - no better than what was on offer at random roadside stops. 1 wrap, 1 panini, one soft drink & 2 packets of crisps - £23!! The gift shop very very disappointing. It is all about Highclere and nothing about Downton. We would have given full marks were it not for the disappointing standard of food on offer in the "Tea Rooms". Don't arrive feeling hungry - or else be prepared to be underwhelmed. Even "Afternoon Tea" is carried in a colourful cardboard box to your table. Not at all what I would have been happy with had I booked it.

Visiting Highclere Castle was great. Visiting two other places not as great, especially the stop at the Brompton Church which was not open. Also, the driver twice missed turns and had to turn around. Tour guide was just mediocre, and he did not pace his walking to the slower guests.
