WHAT TO EXPECT

1. The Douro Valley
After meeting with your tour guide, leave from Porto in a comfortable climatized vehicle and prepare for wonderfull day at the beautifull Douro Valley!
2. Lamego
Having arrived to the Douro Valley and with a quick pass by the centuries old city of Lamego, we will be visiting a small family owned vineyard. Here we will have a commented wine tasting on a variety of their wines and also enjoy some wonderfull views of the terraced hills that make the Douro Valley such an unique place.
3. Douro River
After the visit to the first winery, enjoy a scenic drive through the world famous National Road 222, to the heart of the Douro Valley!
4. Folgosa
It´s time to visit one of the most prestigious wineries of the region, where we will tour ther enturies old estate and try a selection of their world famous Ports. Enjoy their wines, the views and the great ambiance that the place provides!
5. Pinhao
It´s time to go for lunch now, and as we head up the hills, passing to the quaint town of Pinhão, we will have the opportunity to have some fantastic views from up the mountains, to observe the expanse of the Douro Valley Region, a true "Geological Poem"
6. Sabrosa
Having arrived in Sabrosa we will stop at another family owned winery, where we will have a traditional portuguese lunch complete with 4 courses, entrance, salad, main dish and dessert, all paired with their delicious Douro red and white wine. For the grande finale we will visit their cellar where we will try some of their fantastic ports. After a full day of exploration and discovery, relax and enjoy your journey back to Porto!

• Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
• Public transportation options are available nearby
• Specialized infant seats are available
• Suitable for all physical fitness levels
• Pick ups will be between 8:30 - 9:00 am. We will contact customers by message, with final details the day before the tour;
• This tour has two different options, with or without hotel pick up. If you choose the option with the meeting point this tour may or may not be done in a minibus or bus. If you choose the Small Group with hotel pick up option, this tour will be done on a minivan and a group of up to 8 people;
• This tour may be done in two languages. We try to avoid it, but sometimes we have no other solution.
• For lunch we provide meat, fish and vegan option. (We can also accomodate any dietary restriction with prior notification)
• Private option it's done in a private vehicle only with your private guide. The vineyards and rest of the locations are shared with other participants.
• For the ones that choose hotel pick-up, if your accomodation is not in a very easy to reach location, we might ask you to meet us at a close by location;
• This tour last around 9 hours, but it´s subject to local traffic conditions or visit schedules;
• Don´t forget to bring your camera with you!
• There is not much walking involved, but please bring comfortable shoes;
• We do tours all year round, in the winter it is cold and in the summer it's hot, please dress appropriately
• Reschedulings with less than 24 hours before the start of the tour will be charged a 30% fee (subject to availability);
• The order of the tour or partners visit are subject to change depending on availability;

Rita was a wonderful tour guide. Extremely informative, knowledgeable and personable. She took good care of the group. The winery’s were all unique and the port delicious.
The bus ride on the return was a little warm due to no air conditioning being to run in the mountains.
I would definitely book with Rita , she is the best

Excellent trip, very informative and beautiful scenery. Lunch was tasty and the scenic view point for pictures was a nice touch. Vitor was very communicative and helpful- would recommend to all my friends.

The vineyards weren’t exactly generous with the wine. The man at the 2nd vineyard couldn’t answer anybodies questions and don’t seem to know anything about wine at all. We spent the majority of the day travelling - nearly 2 hours there, at least 2 hours back and up to 30 mins between each vineyard (on a boiling hot bus). The lunch at the 3rd vineyard was average (the starter was just lettuce and carrot). We ended up having an extra glass of wine with dinner but only because someone on our table asked for more bottles. Our guide (Paolo maybe?) could have checked in on us during dinner or offered us more drinks but he didn’t. On the way home he also jumped off the bus to buy himself some water but didn’t want any of us to get off to do the same. I had a nice day overall but I don’t really think it was worth what we paid.

Rita, our guide, was lovely. On the other hand, the wine servings were stingy and the food was terrible. Pathetic salad, tasteless soup, small and dry portion of bacalau which we didn't get till 3pm. The worst aspect was the bus which was so underpowered that we sometimes were below the MINIMUM speed displayed on motorway. Whenever we went up hills (and there are a lot of long uphill stretches) the driver had to turn off the AC! We boiled! Very poor value for money.

A wonderful way to see Douro Valley andtry some amazing wines. Our guide was funny & informative, as well as a great driver. Vehicle was comfortable and every stop was a little different but equally as stunning. I definitely recommended this tour if you’re looking for a nice mix of wine tasting & beautiful views.

The tour was paced really well, all three vineyards were picturesque and the tasting guides were friendly and knowledgeable.

Our guide Andre really made it worth it for us. He brought great energy and made the whole experience more fun.

We had the best time exploring the Duoro valley with Rita and Luis! The ride to the vineyards was beautiful. Each of the stops had delicious wines and excellent sommeliers that taught us a lot. We were traveling with my elderly grandmother and our tour guide, Rita, made sure we had all the accommodations we needed for her to enjoy the experience as well. The lunch was delicious. We learned a lot about wine and the history of the region. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour.
