Pietro gave us an amazing experience! He made sure our group was taken care of and went out of his way to stop at some scenic viewpoints that were not part of the tour schedule. He was always enthusiastic and had great energy. Definitely recommend!

We had a lovely trip to different little villages in Douro valley.
Paolo was very kind, he explained a lot about the winery and history of the valley .
Food was very good. The restaurant had a great view.
The wine tasting was entertaining and we had a good zip of different wines including a very old Portwine .
We absolutely recommend this tour and especially Paolo.

The trip was excellent! Our guide Paulo was fantastic and very accommodating. We loved having him as our guide.
The stops were well planned and the very best.
Best lunch we ever had on a day trip - it was exactly what is said - a traditional Portugese lunch and it was delicious.
Thank you very much!

Lunch with the small group was so nice. Nelson the guide was tremendous and considerate. He answered all questions and really added to the experience. Not sure of spelling (Oogle drove the other van and was also very good.)

Our tour guide drived us in a mini van very comfortable, we were a group of 4 so it was very intimate. We visited Amarante and tasted delicious wine and Porto in a Vignoble close to it (Yassine our best friend was very lovely). Then we finished with the cruise and a beautiful view of the Douro River. Special thanks to our tour guide Hugo, the best tour guide we ever seen, dedicated and very funny.

First of all: As an advertisement for German-speaking guests, customers or those interested in this excursion with English and/or French skills, this review is in German for better orientation. So: English and/or French skills are definitely required. However, comparable excursions are not offered in German at all anyway.

We only booked the excursion to the Duoro Valley with wine tasting in the vineyards, boat tour in Pinhão, lunch and a detour to Amarante one day in advance because we wanted to get our bearings on site first and have a personal explanation of the process. In the end, we were convinced by an offer in a small excursion office above the Ponte Luiz I. Here we opted for a private tour in a mini-van with Hugo with pick-up near our hotel. Only one French mother-daughter team took part in the tour. The pick-up was right on time, before the agreed time of 8:30 a.m.

Our tour guide Hugo told us a lot of interesting facts about the region, winemaking, port wine and history in English and French during the journey.

The journey to our first stop in Amarante was only about 45 minutes. Amarante is a typical small town with an impressive church, monastery and old town, which can be reached via a bridge. For second breakfast we enjoyed Pasteis de Nata in a small café here.

After a short stay and continuing our journey, we enjoyed a great wine tasting in a quinta in the Sabrosa area. Here, after a short tour and explanation of the storage in the barrels, we were offered a tasting of white wine, olive oil, rosé wine, various types of honey and red wine. The highlight was a white port wine that had been aged for many years.

After that we had a delicious lunch in Sabrosa (veal steaks, fish fillets, but also a vegetarian pasta dish with mushrooms). From here, refreshed, we headed downhill through vineyards to the Douro River with a short one-hour boat trip on the Douro in a converted historic Rabelo (port wine ship) to round off the day trip.
The return trip went along the river bank from Pinhão to Peso da Régua and then via Vila Real to Porto, where we returned around 6 p.m.

Many thanks to Hugo for an unforgettable day with great impressions. The trip was definitely highly recommended. Hugo speaks easy-to-understand English (but also French), so we were well informed all day. Great.

Absolutely amazing tour with a phenomenal guide Hugo. We were lucky enough to be the only people on the tour so it was completely private. The guide Hugo knew so much about the history and culture of the region and it felt like we were just traveling with a friend showing us around. The stops were all great, including a church, wine and other tastings, delicious lunch and gorgeous boat cruise. Can not recommend enough!
