Leaving from Porto, meet your tour guide at 08:30 a.m and travel to the beautiful Douro Valley in a comfortable climatized vehicle.
After the first stretch of the journey you will be visiting a small family owned vineyard, with a wine tasting of their own production.
Next enjoy a scenic drive through the world famous National Road 222, to the heart of the Douro Valley (Pinhão) where we will embark on the unique experience of doing a short 1 hour cruise in the Douro River, to soak in the beautiful landscape while admiring the terraced hills with the quintessential vineyards and estates that turn the margins of the Douro River into one of the most unique in the world.
Then, in order to complete this experience, enjoy a traditional lunch in a vineyard of a small-medium producer, finishing with a delicious port wine tasting, at their cellars.
After a full day of exploration and discovery, relax and enjoy your journey back to Porto.

1. Lamego
After meeting with your tour guide, leave from Porto, and travel to the beautiful Douro Valley in a comfortable climatized vehicle.
2.
After the first stretch of the journey and having arrived to the Douro Valley, we will be visiting a small family owned vineyard, with a wine tasting of their own production. Here we will have a commented wine tasting we will also enjoy some wonderfull views of the terraced hills that make the Douro Valley so unique.
3. Douro River
After the first winery, enjoy a scenic drive through the world famous National Road 222, to the heart of the Douro Valley, the beautifull village of Pinhão.
4. Pinhao
In Pinhão we will embark on the unique experience of doing a short 1 hour river cruise, to soak in the beautiful landscape while admiring the terraced hills with the quintessential vineyards and estates that turn the margins of the Douro River into a true "Geologic Poem"
5. Miradouro Torguiano De Sao Cristovao Do Douro
After the scenic cruise it´s time to drive up the hills, through the windy Douro roads and get on our way to Sabrosa, for lunch. It´s time to discover more of what the Douro Valley has to offer and to enjoy the breathtaking views from up the mountains.
6. Sabrosa
In Sabrosa we will stop at another family owned winery, where we will have a traditional portuguese lunch complete with 4 courses, entrance, salad, main dish and dessert, all paired with their delicious Douro red and white wine. For the grande finale we will visit their cellar where we will try some of their fantastic ports. After a full day of exploration and discovery, relax and enjoy your journey back to Porto.

• Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
• Public transportation options are available nearby
• Specialized infant seats are available
• Suitable for all physical fitness levels
• Confirmation will be received at time of booking;
• The day before the tour, you will receive the exact pickup details regarding pickup, meeting point and time;
• Parents should bring the baby car seat ajusted to infant's age (1 to 3 years old). We only have seats available after 4 years old.
• This tour may be done in two languages. We try to avoid it, but sometimes we have no other solution.
• This tour has two different options, with or without hotel pick up. If you choose the option with the meeting point this tour may or may not be done in a minibus or bus. If you choose the Small Group with hotel pick up option, this tour will be done on a minivan and a group of up to 8 people;
• For the ones that choose hotel pick-up, if your accomodation is not in a very easy to reach location, we might ask you to meet us at a close by location;
• Private option it's done in a private vehicle only with your private guide. The vineyards and rest of the locations are shared with other participants.
• For lunch we provide meet, fish, vegan and vegetarian option.
• We do tours all year round, in the winter it is cold and in the summer it's hot, please dress appropriately
• There is not much walking involved, but please bring comfortable shoes;
• Don´t forget to bring your camera with you!
• This tour last around 9 hours, but it´s subject to local traffic conditions or visit schedules;
• Reschedulings with less than 24 hours before the start of the tour will be charged a 30% fee (subject to availability);
• The order of the tour or partners visit are subject to change depending on availability;

Very nice trip & Sarah was our tour guide. She was very friendly & funny. Port tasting was good. Lunch and second wine tasting were disappointing. Had taste much better wines. Just enjoy the views.

We booked based on the reviews and we were not disappointed. The day starts on a coach to the 1st vineyard where a port wine tasting takes place followed by a fabulous 3 course lunch with wine. This is followed by a trip along the Douro river and another vineyard with a further wine tasting. Sara our guide for the day was great! Highly recommend if you want to know more about the region. One thing to note is that it is a long day - but worth it!

Our guide, André, was incredible. He picked us up promptly at the meeting point and drove us to the first vineyard. Since we chose the small group tour, there were only around 20 people there. We tried some table wines and ports, from there we went to the boat. The boat was great, we brought a bottle of wine from the first vineyard and shared it with some of our new friends. Following the boat, we had lunch at the last vineyard, and toured the cellar where we tried 10, 20, and 30 year ports. It was an incredible experience and well-worth the driving time.

Our guide Sara was very attentive, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Went on a really hot day but the air conditioned bus really helped. First stop is tawny tasting at a quiet winery with an amazing garden for lunch. Boat ride with nice breezy and picturesque but I wish it was longer. Second vineyard the wine was paired with honey infused rosemary and olive oil they make in house. Such a fun excursion. It is tiring if you’re in the sun all day but definitely worth it.

The complete Duoro Valley Wine Tour with lunch, wine tasting and River Cruise organised by Livingtours was the highlight of our stay in Porto. Our tour guide Rita was brilliant and knowledgeable. The coach ride to the winery was comfortable with breathtaking views. Wine tasting at both wineries was amazing and it was great to learn about the Port wine making process. Lunch was good and the River Cruise enjoyable. Overall, it was a great day out with wonderful weather and an excellent Tour Guide.
