This tour will take you from Seoul to the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) that is a very unique, educational and contemporary historical place.

Also if you choose full day tour, you will visit Gloucester Hill Battle Memorial and Gamaksan Suspension Bridge where was fierce battle field during Korean War and now turned to beautiful places where you can see beauty of Korea nature at the top.

At the Imjingak Park, the vehicle takes you to the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel. After seeing the 3rd Tunnel, you will watch a brief film at the DMZ Exhibition Hall to get more information on the Korean Peninsula.

Then you will move to the Dora Observatory to see North Korea over telescope.

You will pass the Unification Village, on the way to go back to the entrance then go to Gloucester Hill & Gamaksan Suspension Bridge [Option 1].
Or you can take optional itinerary that visit Jangsan Natural Observatory & Hwangpo traditional sailboat on DMZ River (Imjin River) [Option 2].

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. DMZ
The DMZ is a unique area where you can observe one country being divided into two. With this tour, you will visit the 3rd Tunnel, DMZ Exhibition hall, Dora observatory and Unification village. Experience the tension but hope for peace in Korea and learn about their history and future.
2. Imjingak Pyeonghoa-Nuri Park
You can see the Freedom Bridge, Monument of Soldiers, Bell of Peace and an old steam locomotive that shows the extremity of the tragedy that was the Korean War.
3. The Third Tunnel
North Korean Army built to infiltrate South Korea in 1970s. You will walk down to the tunnel (about 500m) wearing a safety helmet. After tunnel, you will have some time to look around the DMZ Exhibition Hall which shows the Korean War, old weapons and you can watch a short film about Korea's history and other information of Korea.
4. Dora Observatory
The highlight spot in DMZ is Dora Observatory where you can see North Korea’s propaganda village through onsite telescopes.

[Option 1] - Hill 235 Hill 235, where the 1st Battalion, the Gloucestershire Regiment (the Glorious Glosters) was ordered to "Hold on where you are", is remembered as "Gloster Hill". The memorial stands at the foot of Gloucester Hill beside the Seolmacheon stream. There is a memorial garden on the east side of the stream containing a large sculpture of the Gloucester's beret, a set of life sized Gloucester soldiers patrolling away from the Imjin River and a memorial wall. The stream is crossed by Gloucester Bridge and a path leads round to a flight of steps that takes you to the memorial stones set into a wall built into the side of the hill. Four plaques on the original memorial still show the crest of the United Nations, the badges of the Gloucestershire Regiment and of the Royal Artillery This is a popular park for local Koreans. According to Lee In-jae, the mayor of Paju who raised money among local citizens to expand the park, "Freedom is not free – it is earned with blood".
6. Gamaksan Chulleong Bridge
[Option 1] -Gamaksan Suspension Bridge 1.7 kilometers away from the Gloucester Hill Memorial is a rope bridge known as The Gloucester Heroes Bridge. The insignia of the regiment is also on a marble effect wall towards the beginning/end of the bridge, depending on which side the walk is started. It is one of longest suspension bridge of Korea with 180 meter length. It was fierce battle field during Korean War. After short hiking (15min), you will reach to the great view point at the mountain Gamaksan which is in the list Gamaksan is in the list of BEST 100 Mountains in Korea, rises 675 meters above sea level and is oft described as the ‘closest mountain to the DMZ’ but it is probably the most popular one to hike near the DMZ. Gamaksan is close to the ceasefire line so, once you climb up to the peak, you will be able to see the Imjingang River and Songaksan Mountain in Gaesong.

[Option 2] - Jangsan Natural Observatory Jangsan Natural Observatory, located on best course of Pyeonghwa Nuri-gil in Paju, offers a wide view from the Imjin River to various mountain ranges. It was originally a military facility protection area and was off-limits to the general public, but entry began to be allowed at the request of Paju City. It is a hidden attraction that boasts the best view of the Imjin River, where you can observe the beautiful panoramic view of the Imjin River, North Korea's Kaesong City, Songaksan Mountain and even the Masikryeong Mountain Range in the distance. This is a place where you can see the flagpoles erected in Chopyeong Island, Unification Bridge, Daeseong-dong, and Gijong-dong as propaganda villages in North Korea. ** If the weather is not good to visit, you will go to Gloster Hill Memorial instead.

[Option 2] - Hwangpo traditional Sailboat on DMZ River (Imjin River) Hop on a Hwangpo sailboat, which was a major means of transportation in the Joseon Dynasty, and enjoy the beauty of the red cliffs of Imjingang for about 45 minutes from Duji-ri to Jajang-ri. Paju Hwangpo Sailboat has fully recreated the original form from the Joseon Period and presents tourists with the excitement of traveling back in time. Once you board a Hwangpo sailboat and depart from Duji Quay, you will be able to immerse yourselves into the gorgeous landscape of Imjingang, from the red cliffs in Wondang-ri and Horogoruseong Fortress to Gorangpo Yeoulmok, where civilian access was restricted for several decades. ** This place is closed in winter by freezing the river. (Beg. of Dec. ~ Beg. of Mar.) ** When sailing is restricted by weather or military issue, you will take Peace Gondola in the Imjingak Park or visit Odusan Unification Observatory instead.

• A sailboat option needs minimum 4 adults to operate. In case of below minimum pax, the option can be changed to suspension bridge option.
• A current valid passport is required on the day of travel
• Do not need passport copy in advance
• Wear comfortable shoes to walk down and up for narrow tunnel
• Not recommended for seniors who have any problem to walk
• The duration can be delayed or shorter following the DMZ situation
• Not provide pick-up from Airport and Cruise port
• The itinerary can be changed by military control
• In case of heavy rain, snow or security control, Suspension bridge can be closed. Instead, you will visit Odusan Unification Observatorry or Majang Lake Suspension Bridge.
• When the sailboat is not available by weather or military issue, you will visit another place instead.
• The tour starts in time at every meeting point. Please be ready in 10 minutes before.

Mr. Young was an amazing tour guide, always super friendly, well-organized and knowledgeable. Also his English was very well understandable. The tour was amazing, especially the stop at the Dora observatory was worth every second.

We had a great view because it wasn’t cloudy and it didn’t rain either. Was very interesting to see North Korea.
Our tour guide (Mr Young) was very kind and answered all our questions about the history of the DMZ. Really enjoyed him as our guide!

Also nice to go very early because it’s a long day and you avoid all the busy crowds that is coming later!

Mr. Young was amazing! I had a great tour. We went to the DMZ and there we saw a tunnel, dug in secret my North Korea. We also went to an observatory to look at North Korea. We say multiple memorials and topped the day off with a suspension bridge and a waterfall. All these parts were strung together by short bus trips where Mr. Young was telling interesting history, combined with good humor.
