Two standouts - the captain’s commentary and great views of the Derwent. The captain’s wit, details and personal reflection made this a memorable trip

The meal was good. The commentary was very good. There was plenty of opportunity to take photos, and move around the boat.

The trip was excellent. Thoroughly recommend this boat trip. The service is great the commentary is informative, entertaining and a little bit gossipy! We loved it.

The skipper was very informative and we learnt a lot. The cost was very reasonable. The boat could really do with a make over, but I did like how traditional it was.

Great tour with lots of information about Hobart city and its attractions. The boat is a heritage kept in good working condition. I went to the south loop me enjoyed the scenes I saw

Loved this cruise. As cold as it was, it was still amazing listening to the captains knowledge of the area, history, real estate etc. Would strongly recommend!

I would recommend Hobart Historic Cruises. The day we went was very grey and rainy, so the views were not as spectacular as I am sure they often are. However, it was a lovely way to see Hobart from another angle and the commentary on the history of the area was really informative.
What let it down slightly was the number of large groups who were on the trip and didn't seem to have any interest in the views or the commentary and were just shouting over each other.
We did the lunch cruise and pre-booked chocolate puddings. I chose the salmon and my partner chose the steak. I was pretty dubious about what the food would be like considering the main point of this was a boat trip rather than the food. I was definitely wrong - the salmon was delicious. It was a huge portion and really tasty. My partner said his steak was nice, but he wished he had chosen the salmon.
It looked like there would have been a lovely outdoor space to sit upstairs, but sadly it was too rainy for that to be an option.

For a better experience of the river the Mona Roma ferry is a far more enjoyable option. There's also a two masted boat that does 3 hour cruises on weekends (didn't do it. Wish I had.)
