Excellent location and great guide. The quaint towns on the way were also pretty. We had lunch in the town.

The guide gave a brief 2 minute speech at beginning and was silent for the two hour ride to site! (Would’ve been a great time to tell about the people and land of Greece.)He was knowledgeable, about the site but lifelessly boring, impersonal and aloof! He was often on his phone when walking from place to place and unavailable at stops or free time!

The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable of Greek history and Delphi. He added some humor too which made the trip enjoyable. He was very caring about the needs of the guests. My recommendation is to start the trip at 8 am rather than 8:30. The total trip time was 10.5 hours, 6 hours were on the bus.

Delfi is a fantastic place and the guide was very kind and helpful.
If you are looking for a simple solution to visit this important archaeological site but don’t want to hire a car this is a perfect solution.
The bus ride is about 2 hours from Athens city center.

I did this tour with my two teenagers. I’m so glad I decided to book this tour with a licensed guide instead of having a driver take us on a private tour to Delphi at double the price. The guide makes this tour. She was not only very knowledgeable but explained things in an almost a storytelling way that made it very easy to understand. So glad we visited the oracle to have the oracle tell us an oracle.

Tour was excellent. The tour guide we had was exceptional. If there was a downside it was that lunch was quite late, otherwise it was excellent.

The trip itself was magnificent and I could not imagine the tour with our guide (I forgot her name! I’m so sorry!), she knew everything about the history of Greece, which for me was the best part. On the bus ride there she told us amazing historical facts that I was not even aware of (and I’ve read a bunch of books, including all of Herodotus’ histories) regarding the Battle of Marathon, the Pelopponesian Wars, the Battle of Thermopylae as well as the mythology and etymology of a lot of the words . . . Her knowledge was impeccable!! Not only that, but my dumbass left my sketchbook at the rest stop (my responsibility) and she was amazingly kind enough to stop on the way back, she did not have to do that, and I am eternally grateful. Like I said I could not imagine our trip without her . . . So amazing . . .

The tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertained us with great stories. I would have liked more free time to explore the rest of the site and spend time at the museum. We walked up to the stadium and then had no time to visit the museum. There was one family that did not come back to the bus on time. Everyone else waited/wasted an extra 30 minutes on the bus which could have been used to explore. The family didn't even apologize.( I wish we had left them behind.) Otherwise, we enjoyed the trip very much.

Excellent tour guide who made the tour a great learning experience. Not only did we learn a lot about Delphi, but also of the places we'd pass by on the bus. Definitely great for history buffs, classic majors/minors, people studying abroad or just anyone in general!

However, I will say the information here is misleading. The tour was in English and French — this was alright, but it would have been great to know beforehand. Just from a logistical standpoint, you could learn a lot more if it was just 100% in one language. It's good to know that they're accommodating, though!

The page also features a picture of The Tholos, but you don't get to visit it at all. It was partially bad for assuming it was in the archeological site after a bad Google Maps search, but they shouldn't include a picture of it if it barely gets a mention on the tour, especially since it's what comes up on a lot of souvenirs and to people's minds when you tell them you're going to Delphi.

Another thing is the meet-up time. The time listed here was later than what was actually the case. Not sure if this was just for this one tour, but just be prepared to leave your hotel/apartment much much earlier than expected in case you get the message I got.

If you don't have lunch included, you have the option between going to the hotel they go to for lunch (14 euros for the chosen meal or from the menu) or staying in the Delphi area for an hour. I went with the latter and definitely recommend doing so. Got a table for one at a nearby restaurant and went to a souvenir shop. There are souvenirs at the rest stop on the way to Delphi, and you also stop at one in Arachova on the way back to Athens, but the souvenir shop at Delphi is the way to go if you want something that actually says "Delphi," and for a better price too.

Would rate around 3.8/5 since I would have hoped the information was clearer and more accurate before paying twice as much as the bus ticket you could get at the bus terminal. However, the tour guide really knows her stuff and is really passionate! Can't deny it was a great experience nonetheless. Would recommend for solo travelers, especially if you're like me and need structure when without the friend who plans.
