Discover the real Netherlands in this amazing tour through Zaanse Schans, Edam, Volendam, and Marken – the jewels of the Dutch countryside.
The visit starts in Zaanse Schans, where you will be able to take pictures of typical Dutch windmills that are still in use today. Afterward, we will drive to the Waterland area, passing through the beautiful villages from this part of the country: Edam, Volendam, and Marken. In Edam, we will walk through historic sites like the square where the famous Cheese Market used to take place. Then, near Volendam, we will visit a local cheese producer, where the cheese master will explain how they produce Gouda and Edam cheeses. In the clog factory, you will discover the secrets of this typical Dutch shoe. Then, travel back in time to the 17th century as we walk by cozy fishermen houses in Marken, the fishing harbor, and the protestant church.

This was a very good tour. Tour guides were excellent, informative, witty, entertaining and kept to a schedule. It was a fast paced tour due to the many places visited in crowded areas and traffic. The tour bus was comfortable with 75 people, however two tour guides were assigned and it worked out well. We came back home with much information on the sites we visited.

Interesting and beautiful but need more time in each location to really enjoy it. Maybe don’t mix the land tour with boat trip. Blanca the tour guide is excellent, knowledgeable and take good care of us. She us really awesome.

It was a beautiful sunny day to explore the 4 locations. The guide was knowledgeable and friendly and the driver was punctual.
The villages we visited were charming and reflected what travelers expect to see in the Netherlands, tulips, windmills, wooden shoes, cheese, dikes etc
