A fascinating tour from Naples that will give you the opportunity to visit an ancient roman town like Pompeii, explained by a professional guide (2 h. 30 min), investigate the amazingly preserved infrastructures and artifacts. You will then drive up to 1000m of Mount Vesuvius which nearly destroyed the town in 79 A.D. Take the last 200m meters by foot and enjoy the panoramic 360degree views from the smouldering crater.

1. Pompeii Archaeological Park
Pompeii was an ancient Roman city near modern Naples in the Campania region of Italy, in the territory of the comune of Pompei. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area (e.g. at Boscoreale, Stabiae), was buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79.
2. Basilica
The Basilica is the most sumptuous building of the Forum, and its space was used to carry out business and for the administration of justice
3. Forum
The Forum was located at the heart of Pompeii, and was a thriving market and trade center, and also had many connections to politics.
4. Tempio di Giove Capitolino
Dominated by the Vesuvius with its statues of Jupiter, Juno and Minerva, the temple was the Capitolium, similar to the one located in the Ancient Rome. The statues were highly placed to be visible to those passing in the Forum.
5. Macellum
The Macellum of Pompeii was located on the Forum and as the provision market of Pompeii was one of the focal points of the ancient city. The building was constructed in several phases. When the earthquake of 62 CE destroyed large parts of Pompeii, the Macellum was also damaged.

Via dell’Abbondanza was the ancient main street (decumanus maximus) of ancient Pompeii, which ran across the city in the direction east/west from the Forum to the Porta Sarno. In ancient times the street was crowded and noisy with many shops, workshops ("officinae”), cafes, snack-bars and restaurants for food and drink.
7. Stabian Baths (Terme Stabiane)
The Forum Baths are located behind the Temple of Jupiter and date back to the years immediately after the founding of the colony of veterans by General Silla (80 BC). Women's and men's quarters had separate entrances. The men's section presents an apodyterium (dressing room), used also as a tepidarium (for medium temperature baths), frigidarium (for cold baths) and calidarium (for hot baths). Like many buildings in Pompeii, the baths were heavily damaged during the earthquake of 62 AD.
8. Lupanar
The Lupanar of Pompeii is the most famous brothel in the ruined Roman city of Pompeii. It is of particular interest for the erotic paintings on its walls. Lupanar is Latin for "brothel". The Pompeii lupanar is also known as Lupanare Grande.
9. Casa del Menandro
The house of the Menander is a great example of a Roman Villa owned by an high-ranking family. It is reachly decorated with wonderful frescoes representing scenes of the Trojan war and here were also founded many objects in silver, tableware now strored in the Archaeological Museum in Naples. The house owes its name to a picture of Menander, an Athenian poet, placed in the portico. The house belonged to Quintus Poppaeus Sabinus of the Poppei family, relatives of the Empress Poppea Sabina, Nero's second wife.
10. Pompeii
The Large Theater of Pompeii was built from the Romans on the slope of a hill located in the area; they took advantage of the natural depression of the mountain to create a majesty auditorium divided into 5 sectors. On the stage were played tragedies of the Greco-Roman traditions.
11. Vesuvius National Park
Drop off at 1.000 mt high on the Volcano. Mount Vesuvius is a somma-stratovolcano located on the Gulf of Naples in Campania, Italy, about 9 km east of Naples and a short distance from the shore. In 79 AD eruption destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Mount Vesuvius doesn’t stand alone. While the ‘main peak’ is named Vesuvius, there is another mountain which is attached to it, Monte Somma. is listed among the most dangerous volcanoes in the world. Volcanologists and geologists alike agree that the next volcanic eruption is overdue and that when it does happen, it will be big. The layer of magma that lies beneath Vesuvius measures a huge 154 square miles; this is why scientists monitore the volcano’s activity 24/7.
12. Vesuvius National Park
Reach the crater's edge at 1.280 mt to admire a breathtaking panorama on the Gulf of Naples. The surface of the path is uneven, but it' ll be well worth it. Following the devastating eruption, it was named after the Roman God of the Flame and Metal Forgery – Vulcan

We had a fantastic trip, Isabella our tour guide and Giuseppe our driver were excellent. Lots of information and local knowledge. Our guide in Pompeii was very knowledgeable and brought the whole tour to life. Vesuvius was a bit of a climb but the view of the crater and across the bay of Naples was worth the effort. Overall well organised well managed and good value for money.

Andrea was our all day guide while Viviana guided us through Pompeii. The walk through the archeological park was slow and well explained by Viviana. LOTS to see & learn in 2.5 hours.
Great lunch (not included) before the trek up to Mt Vesuvius’ crater.
Trek NOT easy. Straight shot up 1100 meters on very lose volcanic dirt. Just a warning for those with bad knees, or if you are thinking this is an easy walk. It’s not and we are pretty fit.
Drinks/food/souvenirs for purchase at 3 locations en route to the crater.
Bus was very comfortable and air conditioned. We were very happy and very tired afterwards! Recommend. Great great day

Very beautiful day, the visit to Pompeii accompanied by a guide is a real plus in a place that is ultimately extensive, very rich and extremely touristic, very beautiful views of Vesuvius, flawless and well-paced organization

Good tour of Pompeii. Good lunch. Awfully crowded. Drove all the way up Vesuvius only to find it closed due to the torrential rain. The meeting place to begin tour was a mass of people and even tho we were 1/2 hr early, tour leader was looking for us. It would be helpful for the leader to have a “Viator” sign on a pole to identify them. There was no way to tell who was who—no identifier evident.

Fantastic day trip. We met Isabella at the meeting point and she took us to the coach where Emiliano was waiting for us. He was a very safe driver and took us to all areas smoothly. We met Max our tour guide for Pompeii and had a great tour with lots of information. The weather was great and we had a lovely time. There are water fountains inside Pompeii so take a water bottle and fill up inside instead of buying expensive drinks from vendors outside Lunch wasn't included on our tour but we visited the ristorante besides the meeting point and ate from the 3-course set menu which was filling and good value for money. After lunch we set off to visit Mount Vesuvius where Emiliano again drove us safely to the drop off point. we then had free time to walk to the crater and my husband & I had a shot of lemon & melloncello at the top which was delicious.

you really must take the time to do this trip.
Our guide was Andrea and our driver was Jovanni(very safe)
Fantastic day trip with loads of stuff to take in. We stopped at Pompei first and met our guide Max. This guys was very funny and new all there is to know about the place. He made this an interesting trip and not a history lesson. Just look for the tallest guide in pompei 🤣
Andrea gives you all the information that you need about the area and dates etc he was very knowledgeable and really cares about tourist safety and welfare. Again he makes the trip more than interesting without being boring. All in all a good day out and well worth it.

We loved every part of this trip. Our guides (Roberta & Max) were brilliant. They knew so much about the locations throughout the day and were so friendly and helpful. Pompeii was amazing, we were in awe of everything we saw. To be able to climb to the crater of Vesuvius is something else. Even though it was cloudy on our trip, it was still very impressive.

This tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Italy! Our tour guides & driver, Salvatore, Max & Franceso were so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. They picked us up at the scheduled time and took us to the Pompeii ruins. We got there at a great time where it wasn't too crowded and we were able to see the most important areas. After the tour, we had an hour for lunch, purchasing souvenirs and relaxing before heading to Vesuvius. At Vesuvius, we had an amazing view of the bay of Naples. Overall, it was an incredible experience and was well worth it. We would definitely go back.
