Day Trip to Pompeii, Positano and Amalfi Coast from Rome

In writing this, there are two parts that have to be addressed: that which can be controlled, and that which can not be controlled. I schedule a trip to Pompeii two days before Christmas and if anyone has tried to go from Las Vegas through Barstow after Thanksgiving then you know the highway is a parking lot for miles. That is part of which can NOT be controlled - holiday traffic and all that goes with it...Fabio our driver, got our group to and from all the destinations safely and in a span of 13 hours. That was an epic achievement considering the challenge. What CAN be controlled - your personal preparations for a tour/travel and all contingencies. I bring my food and drink "just in case" and if there is something good along the way, I'll take it in. The visit to Pompeii was great. My advice, do your research on what you want to see and how much. I went out on my own, finding as much as I could in the time I had. Others can take a guided tour through the place. That is up to the tourist. The drive along the Amalfi Coast and Positano were both very nice and pretty even on a party cloudy/foggy day. It is also the off season and there wasn't much open, which didn't affect my agenda as I didn't go there to shop. (thank goodness too because it's ballpark hotdog level price gouging) Anyway, I could NOT have done this trip on my own for the price I paid. I appreciate so much the tour being made available. Our driver however, made an exhausting journey exceptionally more palatable by everything he did to make sure the goals were met and returned safely to Rome. The tour company provided the destinations, but Fabio put this trip at five stars.

We did our small group tour to Pompeii, Amalfi and Positano and it turned out very well.
Drive with Mr. Fabio made our day very memorable and easy.
He was right on time in the morning to pick us up; a very pleasant and considerate gentleman. He does not speak much English but that never was a problem as he communicated well with help of Google translator, he helped us with buying tickets and arranging guided tour to pompeii.
Very pre-emptive about the customer needs, took good care of us through out the day. He patiently waited for us as we took pictures and did our sightseeing. Drove us safely back.

Thank you Fabio for giving us fond memories of the trip. Highly recommended.

My tour guide and driver was Fabio. I highly recommend requesting him. I had a knee injury and he was very attentive and helped me tremendously. I can't wait to return . Thank you Fabio for your hospitality.

Fabio was a fabulous driver to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. He drive us safely, pointed out many interesting sites along the way, and recommended a nice restaurant in Positano. The trip was amazing, we saw so much!!!

We enjoy the restaurant at Positano and he take great pictures of us.
We try fresh Pomegranates juice, was amazing!
Also he is a very good driver.

Everything was amazing and the Amalfi coast was the most lovely we have ever seen!!! But more than that…we had the absolutely best, most kind and generous, and incredibly helpful and patient driver and guide!! Fabio made the trip more enjoyable than anyone else could have. He made it specifically special for us! I cannot say enough good things about him. Book with Fabio is you can and use a translator app on your phone. We had the most fun with him. WE LOVED IT ALL AND LOVE AND WILL MISS FABIO ❤️❤️❤️

Note: Our tour at Pompeii was delayed, but this was not the fault of Fabio, our driver. Others in our group may not have been happy about that, but it had nothing to do with our driver. He even made this time up to us so we could still do everything. He did not have to do this, but took of his own time to make up for someone else’s inconvenience.

After initially having difficulty contacting the tour company to confirm our pick-up and changing the original date as requested by the tour company, our driver Fabio arrived and gave us a magical day of beautiful memories. Fabio does not speak much English but communicated through his phone with Google translate and he went above and beyond to make the day special. Our tour guide at Pompeiiwas great and very knowledgeable. Two hours was just a little introduction to the wonders of Pompeii. Positano was delightful and the restaurant Fabio suggested was quality with beautiful sea views. The Amalfi coast is just stunning and we were given many opportunities to take beautiful photos. Our small tour group was fun and we had a wonderful day together. The drive back was long due to extreme traffic but this was a memorable day thank you Fabio for making our day extra special
