Escape bustling Amman for a day and discover one of Jordan’s ancient jewels, getting the chance to see different historical and religious sites on this private day tour. Visit the ancient town of Madaba, known for its mosaic, particularly its 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George.

Climb up to Mount Nebo, an important Judeo-Christian pilgrimage site, where Prophet Moses first viewed the Promised Land and is said to have died there. And indulge in a scenic view of the Holy Land and the Jordan River Valley from the summit.

1. Madaba
Departure is from Amman. After pick up from your hotel, hop into a climate-controlled vehicle with a private English-speaking driver and Wi-Fi on board. Observe and gaze at Jordan’s desert landscapes as you travel south to Madaba. The driver will assist you with places of interest and particular information on the route, however, will not act as a guide. Upon arrival, discover this ancient mosaic town with a history spanning back to the 2nd century. The most well-known is the mosaic map of Jordan and the Holy Land of the 6th century in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George; marked with points related to historical stories mentioned in the bible.
2. Mount Nebo
Then climb up to Mount Nebo, a sacred Mountain in Jordan, standing at approximately 817 meters above sea level. Mount Nebo is steeped in religious significance as it presents an important Judeo-Christian pilgrimage site. It is where Moses first viewed the Promised Land from the summit and where Prophet Moses is said to have died. Moreover, Egyptian monks built a small monastery on the summit in memory of Moses In the fourth century, this church was then reconstructed into a basilica. This basilica, which still stands on Mount Nebo today, boasts a collection of well-preserved Byzantine mosaics. The mosaics illustrate images of wildlife and hunting. This site is not only a point of interest for history enthusiasts, however, offers a panoramic view of the Holy Land and the Jordan River Valley from the summit.
3. The Baptism Site Of Jesus Christ
The Baptism Site of Jesus Christ; is located on the Jordan side of the Jordan River. It was known as Bethany beyond the Jordan in the Biblical time, & is considered one of the three holiest sites of Christianity; it is where Jesus Christ has been baptized by John. Therefore, marking a highly important historical and religious event. Get the chance to pray in this significant pilgrimage site where many prophets have passed The Baptism Site, known as ‘Maghtas’ in Arabic is one of the most important recent discoveries in biblical archaeology. Excavations only began there in 1996, however, have already unveiled more than 20 churches, caves, & baptismal pools dating from the Roman and Byzantine periods. Wonderful trip and experience! Anas was my tour guide and he was very knowledgeable about history/sites in Jordan and we had great conversations during the trip. As a solo female traveler I felt very safe and secure during this trip. Would definitely recommend ☺️

Had the most amazing tour with Mr Mint! The two churches in madaba were lovely, especially as we arrived on easter sunday and there were services. Mount nebo and the baptism site were beautiful too

My guide was Mahmuod Awad, he was wonderful. I needed to get cash out on the way, he was more than happy to take me to an ATM in a bank for safety. He had knowledge of the area, explained the areas around and their names with the meaning. Was given ample time to explore the sites before returning to the car for the following site. Had breaks from driving by visiting local shops with refreshments. Water and WIFI was readily available. Do ensure you confirm the tour a day before and acknowledge prayer times. Overall wonderful tour, thank you!

The views were wonderful and I enjoyed the great sense of history each site gad. My driver Bardaghawi was very knowledgeable about the sites and Jordan. I learned a lot and enjoyed his company. I highly recommend using this company.

The view at Mount Nebo is amazing.
Visited few churches and mosaic workshop. Learning new things!
Driver Bardaghawi is great, bought us strawberries from Madaba and very patient to wait for us.
On Baptism site, suggestion to explain the history a bit. The guide did not explain much.

Mr. Mint was an amazing driver sharing the history of Jordan as he drove. He was generous in giving us all the time we needed at each site. It was so nice knowing we could explore without being rushed. He treated us to water and a snack and was so kind to stop at a mart to pick up some snacks for our hotel and bus ride to Petra the next day. We totally recommend this company and Mr. Mint for your future travels to Jordan

We visited the three sites with the guide who gave us details and historical explanations. The tour was interesting and we liked that it was done in a private way. Our guide Bardaghawi was very helpful and accommodated our times/needs. When we arrived in Jordan we had some doubts about the country's security, but we realized that these were absolutely unfounded doubts. We felt very comfortable walking around the country (we also did another private tour of Petra), It's definitely worth spending a few days visiting. Highly recommended this tour!

We had a great time with Ahmad as our driver. He took us everywhere safely and was so accommodating. He gave us a lot of info about Jordan which was very interesting.
