Fantastic experience through out.
Pick up on time, comfortable bus.
The Culture village itself was fabulous and excellent as described while booking. Warm and friendly staff, great local & traditional experience, sumptuous food and loved the Kava as well as Fire dance ceremony.
Must visit.

This is a very interesting and surprisingly in-depth look at how Fijian society operated before contacts with Europeans. Outwardly it has the usual touristy aspects, such as facsimiles of traditional building and demonstrations of weapons, cooking and handicrafts (e.g., starting a fire with just wood and friction). Upon arrival you relax in a very quiet amphitheater/dining area, then go on the extended guided tour. Following that is a very good dinner, including chicken and fish cooked for hours under coals ("lovo" style). and a fun performance (with audience participation at the end).

A few thoughts as follows about the late afternoon/night tour:

1. Although the price seems a bit expensive, it does include transportation from your hotel and, as you look around on your tour, you realize that you are supporting a lot of people.

2. The setting is very quiet and peaceful and unrushed. The seating area is sheltered by two enormous and very tall patches of bamboo stalks which creak ever so subtly in the gentle breeze, a metaphor itself (bend but do not break) of how Fijian culture had adapted to a modern world and outside forces (which is a major theme of the walking tour).

3. During the tour we visited a traditional "chief’s house" and there was "chief" there for photos after the guide explains the chief's role. That role still exists in modern Fijian society but that person was not a real chief (of course), but he was from a family that does provide the current chief; however, as a younger male he would never be elevated to that position, but is doing his part to preserve the culture.

4. The tour guide was very well-informed about the traditional and modern Fijian culture and very eager to answer any questions, so please take advantage of this opportunity.

Really enjoyed my experience with this tour, I won't re-tell the details of the tour as I'm sure there are other reviews that will do a way better job at detailing it than I ever could so please go and give some of the other reviews a read.

What I can share in terms of my personal experience is that it was definitely interactive, immersive storytelling, and entertaining live performances. As for the food, I would recommend trying to be one of the first people in line to get the warmest food and I appreciate that you can go for refills if you'd like. Lastly, I recommend making sure to bring some Fijian cash just in case you'd like to purchase additional drinks, items, and some donations to the staff fund at the end of the night to show them appreciation for their hospitality and efforts.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this experience!

Great night and entertainment and good value but maybe not the full Cultural experience/insight. A but too controlled and set up.
Food cooked in the ground was great, everything else was typical mass catering for this type of experience.

Perhaps my Expectations were too high. The setting was rustic. The stations on the tour were simple. The guide was good and the information at each station good. There were no commercial sales other than food. Food was buffet style and varied, but not as good as I had hoped for. Alcoholic drinks could be purchased. The entertainment after dinner was good - excellent if one enjoys audience participation.
