Feast on song, drama, tradition, and divine seasonal kai (cuisine) within our forest Pā (village) blanketed by towering Tawa trees, its blazing bonfires, and forest-formed amphitheatre.

Te Pā Tū offers 3-hour evening events that change with each season of the maramataka, the Māori lunar calendar.

Across summer, Tū Te Rā celebrates an abundant harvest, and we explore concepts, rituals, and stories of ancient Māori warfare and peace.

Throughout winter, Tū Te Ihi marks promise heralded by the arrival of the Matariki star cluster which high and bright in winter skies, signalling the new lunar year – we share the energy and passion of this celebration.

Cultural knowledge unique to each season is shared from the outset – rituals, songs, stories and continue across the night. From the beginning too, we share local, seasonal kai - plentiful and delicious. Kai horotai (indigenous canapes) is followed by a torch lit walk to a lavish 3-course fusion feast.

Great experience and value for money. The interactive section of the tour where you learned about Maori culture was informative and fun and the singing was very moving. A special thank you also to Dennis our bus driver for the informative commentary on the way to Te Pa Tu and for his delightful serenading on the return trip home.

I'm not going to say anything that the other outstanding 5 star reviews haven't already said but seriously, go see this show. The hosts do an amazing job of making you feel welcome and providing education of their culture and history. I would definitely go again if I am in the area and encourage everyone else to attend as well

Amazing evening getting immersed in the Maori culture and then ending with a wonderfully prepared meal. The performances during and after dinner were fantastic and they did a good job of getting to know everyone there and making them feel welcome. Defintiely recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Sharing and interacting while having some small bites and playing some games.
The food were yummy. Wish we could have more of the roasted pork and duck (( : We only had one piece of each )) :

Just wanted to drop a huge thanks for the incredible evening at Te Pa Tu! I’ve seen how it’s grown from the Tamaki days and wow, it’s gotten even better. The whole experience is way more interactive now, and the staff are super friendly, really making you feel like part of the family.

Big shoutout to Ava, who totally rocked it! She was amazing with our diverse group, chatting up everyone regardless of age or where they were from. It’s rare to see someone so young handle things like a pro.

Everything from the cultural shows to the food was top-notch. If you’re in Rotorua and looking for a genuine, fun cultural experience, you’ve gotta check out Te Pa Tu. What a night to remember – thanks again!

100% recommend. It was really fun and interesting. I feel like this was done really well and the performers were all having a good time. The capapes were really good. I can't give 5 stars as the restaurant food was really lacking. It's not a fine dining experience at all which is what the website made out. BUT, we didn't care, overall it was a really good time.
