We will start the tour with a delicious welcome drink prepared with the fresh fruits of the area. Our guide will highlight the main objectives of the farm, which include the promotion of the sustainable use of natural resources and preservation of Costa Rican customs and traditions.
After this warm welcome, we will get to try milking cows by hand. Anyone can participate in this experience, especially the little ones. Next, we will participate in the process of extracting cane juice and have the opportunity to taste the juice with combined with a variety of ingredients such as liquor, peppermint, and other products obtained from the farm.
We will visit a small archaeological ranch where we can observe different indigenous pieces and use them in the creation of artisanal cocoa.
At the end of the tour, we will share a lunch made with farm-fresh products such as cheese, tortillas, hash, and more. Undoubtedly, this is an experience full of culture, tradition, and Costa Rican customs.

We were hesitant about this tour, but our guide Jasmine made all the difference as she ensured we had fun while also learning a lot about Costa Rican farming. We learned so much about everyday farm life on a small farm, and we had fun interacting with the family. From composting to chocolate production, we learned and experienced so much about life on the farm and how it fits in with current-day Costa Rica. Thank you Jasmine!

The farm visit has been one of the highlights of our Costa Rica vacation. If you are on the fence, just go. It was so much fun to milk a cow and see production of alcohol, make your own chocolate, learn about all of the natural plants that they grow. People were so hospitable and we were actually in their home. If I could give this an extra star I would. We had multiple samples throughout our tour and then they made us a lunch from their homegrown farming products.

Jasmine was an excellent tour guide. She was a joy to be with all day. The . family farm was amazing. Each experience from identifying the various herbs and plants, to milking a cow and drinking the milk (with a little bit of distilled liquor), making chocolate, juicing sugar cane, feeding a goat, helping to prepare lunch was AMAZING AND FUN. We learned so much. Thank you

Jazmin (or Yazmin?) was an EXCELLENT tour guide, taking us first to the Sloth's Territory where we saw both two- and three-toed sloths, including a mother with baby. Then she took us to the small farm of a captivating family living off the land, growing organic food and operating a small dairy. One of the daughters of the family showed us through the farm, then had us milk a cow, crush sugar cane and grind chocolate to make a beverage and then some handmade chocolates. And the patriarch of the family demonstrated his still and gave us a small taste of the moonshine, followed by a traditional Costa Rican lunch.
We were super lucky to be the only people who signed up for this tour, having Jazmin and her driver all to ourselves. Jazmin was a great tour guide, and the farm tour was an unexpected favorite of our whole time in Costa Rica.

This farm activity was packed with interesting things to see and do... our guide Minor was the best, super-informative and good-natured, alongside the friendly and accommodating family who hosted us at their farm - I see that other reviewers have detailed all the little experiences that, put together, made for a really interesting, fun and memorable experience!

I was amazed at how much we enjoyed this farm tour! A family farm that grows and raises everything. Our guide led the tour but the family member was 19-year-old Antonio and he was fantastic. Learn about everything they do from pineapples to moonshine! We made chocolate, milked cows, and at a wonderful lunch. A very enjoyable experience.

This was the most amazing experience! The entire family was lovely and packed in so much education and new experiences. I can’t recommend this enough! We will never forget our time on the Campesino farm.

This was the best thing we did in Costa Rica, and that is saying a lot. I grew up on a farm a long time ago in Kentucky, and so this brought back many memories of the family farm to me. This is the way farming was done years ago, when people were close to the land, close to nature. These folks are doing it right! Thank you again for having us!

There were so many features to this activity that were special: the organic farming methods utilized; explanations about all the medicinal uses for the expansive variety of herbs grown; the incredible taste of raw milk; processing of cocoa from cocoa pods to chocolate; how their farm animals are largely 'rescues'; the 'start to finish' process of distilling the local spirit; a delicious lunch ...... this is not an easy life and we left having much respect for this family and what they are doing to maintain and restore their environment.
