I want to start by saying the service was excellent- both that of the snorkel crew and at La Changeloense, but overall, experience was just ok- not really what we expected. To be honest, the snorkeling probably should have been cancelled given the conditions. The guides were great- accommodating and happy to meet my son’s requests to make him comfortable but the ocean was rough and choppy making it difficult to swim and/or see anything.. He told us that snorkeling season is really over at this point and said that Nov-mid April is really the time to go.
The beach break at La Changeloense was mediocre. The service, drinks and food were good- the hosts very hospitable, but the seating and beach area left a lot to be desired. It’s a very small area that’s sectioned off from street full of vendors that approach every few minutes and doesn’t offer seating directly on the beach. The price was really very fair and had the snorkeling been better, it would have been well worth it, but if there is a next time, I think I’d explore other options.

This was a little hard to find at first, but from then on it was fantastic service. Best food we had all week. Very attentive to my family. Great price for the snorkeling tour and private beach access.

The snorkeling was awesome - they guys on the boat were super helpful and had their own underwater camera; they emailed pics. The restaurant/beach were OK. The only issue was getting there - I didn't get any emails or info after booking so I had to figure out how to get to the pick up point. If I didn't speak Spanish, it would have been hard.
Walk out of the port and and continue until the first intersection, take a left and look for a restaurant called Katrina. Show them the reservation email and they will grab a cab for you. At the restaurant, youll wait until they are ready to walk you a short distance to the crew that does the snorkeling.

The actual tour was great and had a great time at the open bar. There was major miscommunication in which we were suppose to meet at s different location than on the ticket where taxi world have been provided outside of Port. Instead it cost us $8 each way to get to meeting point.

We had a great time with the Chilanga Team both at the restaurant and on the snorkeling trip! While snorkeling, we felt safe at all times and the guides did a great job showing some great sights under the water. We even got to see a sea turtle up close! The restaurant team was outstanding and very attentive. The snacks they provided we delicious and the drinks were fantastic. We also has the same experience that some others had with vendors coming up to us but they were very respectful. The Chilanga is at great little spot to hang out and have private access to the beach. We'll be planning to hang out here on our next trip!

Viator should not promote this excursion. The description on how to get to the meeting point is very vague. The address, of course, was in Spanish. So, we asked 5-6 people to help us find the meeting point. Everyone told us something different and sent us in different directions. This included 2 cab drivers. We walked for over an hour in 100-degree heat. Finally, a cab driver recognized the address. It led us to a restaurant! No where in the directions did it say it was a restaurant. Anyhow, the restaurant employees arranged transportation for us to the beach. When we arrived, it was shocking to see a boat barely bigger than a small fishing boat. There were 2 young men to take us out. Neither one spoke any English. They could not understand that 2 of the people on the boat still needed life jackets. Somehow, we all got ready to go into the water. The "guide" seemed to be a teenager. He did not do much in his role as guide other than continually dive under the water entertaining himself. The driver of the boat lost eye contact with us. He had to continually drive the boat around looking for us so he could pick us up. We were very far away at that point. The beach part of the activity was disappointing. The beach is dirty, and the swimming area is small and dirty also. Each of us were supposed to get nachos as a snack. It was included in the price. We received 2 orders and waited for the next 2 for one hour. It was a very frustrating day.

It was a very nice place to hang out at the beach. The solicitors are a bit much but that is how so many make money so we just said “no thank you.”
They left us alone after that.
