The experience take place in the seaview grandmother villa, where we live together from when i was born. Are you ready to discover the unique flavors of the local cuisine transmitted by my grandmother, while exploring our traditional Italian lifestyle? The experience is hands-on and you can learn some valuable cooking skills and tips.
Here you will be the chef and the diner, learning to cook the specialties of our cuisine, handed down to me by my grandmother!
You will learn new cooking techniques, all from the scratch that you can easily replicate at home, such as learning how to make gnocchi, eggplant parmesan and the typical tiramsù. You will be completely immersed in the Italian lifestyle in a convivial atmosphere among lemon and olive trees, and I show you also how we produce olive oil and limoncello. My goal is that this experience remains in your mind but above all in your heart!

There was a large group of us along with others that booked the same night and all of us had a wonderful time. While we didn't get to see much of the villa, the class actually takes place in Christiano's home, where we were told there were 13 family members living there. A large room was build off of the villas kitchen and outside under cover were the stoves and such to finish the meal off. All the prep work took place in this room, large enough for the 30 of us.

As you may have noted, on the pictures of Christano, he has red hair, and him along with the other two members in the room with red hair were referred to as gingers for the entire night. He worked along side his sister and his mother, who joined us later to help with the dough.

We started with the Tiramisu, since it takes time to setup in the refrigerator. All of us made one, which we ate at the end of the meal. Christano makes it fun, as he challenged us in a good way with how long we dumped the biscuits in the espresso.

Next was making the dough for the gnocchi. It started with separating the potato from their skins with the device that looked like a really large garlic press. We split up in team and it was a race to see who could process the most potatoes. Once this was done, his mom worked on the dough while we moved onto the eggplant parmesan.

Just as with the other two dishes, he had fun showing us how to prepare the dish. He picked my wife to supervise the group along with another lady. Gave them a spoon and said, "don't be afraid to use it." Again, lots of fun.

After this we went back to the gnocchi to cut and shape them for cooking. Once this was complete, the gnocchi went into the hot water, eggplant in the oven and the wine was served. Once the food was ready, we all sat down to a wonderful Italian meal.

Chistano, his sister and mother made the experience wonderful. One of the most memorial things we did on our two week trip to Italy. I highly recommend doing this during your visit to Sorrento.

Definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Seiano! The Ginger Chef not only knows his stuff, but does a good job engaging and entertaining the guests. I was a bit surprised by the size of the group (25 that evening), but the Ginger Chef and his staff made it all work. Perhaps a more direct notice in the Trip Advisor listing speaking to the potential size of the class would be beneficial. We were accustomed to a smaller group from previous cooking classes. Food and wine was excellent...a shame that a case of their wine could not be purchased and shipped back to the US. There were 8 of us in our party, and we all took away lessons to be used back home from the class.

The experience was amazing. The food was delicious. The wine and dessert also delicious. The family’s location for the dinner was beautiful. The experience was well planned, silly, and a must do in Sorrento! They also gave us the recipes which was an added bonus. The limoncello was also the best I’ve ever had.

Perfecto!

This was fun and Christiano entertaining , but more like assembly line with games than cooking . Almost all good pre prepared and rushed explaination of what was done. Notes to take home explaining were very short and basic . A fun evening but foodies won’t enjoy . Also cheaper if you book direct so should price check .
