Explore the wine culture, through the most complete Douro Valley during a day excursion.
This amazing tour, gives you the opportunity to visit two of the best wine estates in the region and feel the essence of being in the heart of this precious wine region.
You will have the opportunity to learn the history of the wine estates and see all the wine cultivation and production process, being at the source of the Porto Wine. The "birthplace" of this unique nectar!
During the tour enjoy 6 wine tastings while admiring the astonishing landscapes and serenity of the Douro Valley, recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO, since 2001.
The guided visit to 2 different wine estates with tastings, a complete traditional lunch with Douro wines and a scenic 50 minutes cruise on the Douro River is included on this full package.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Porto
Your expert guide will collect you from your hotel/accommodation or meeting point and will drive you to the renown Douro region. On your way to the Douro, the guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage. Half Way through the drive to the Douro Region we will do a short stop for a coffee break.
2. The Douro Valley
Welcome to the Douro Region, famous for it's valley, Unesco World Heritage site, the oldest demarked wine region with unique landscapes of vineyards and the magical Douro river giving you the perfect background for a day of amazing wine tastings.
3. Sabrosa
Arriving in Sabrosa we will do our first visit of the day. We will discover the first of two wineries where you learn about the wine production and history of Douro Region, and its wines. You will have the oportunity to taste different wines before the lunch. A complete lunch will be served by the end of the visit: a full traditional portuguese meal with entrance, main dish, dessert, pairing with Douro red or white wine.

After lunch we will drive through the windy Douro roads on the way to Pinhão and we will do a quick photo stop at one of the most impressive viewpoints of the region. Enjoy the views and share with your friends and collegues on social media!
5. Pinhao
It's now time to sail! Enjoy a 50 minutes scenic cruise on the Douro river departing from Pinhão on board of a traditional Rebelo boat.

National Road 222: drive through the most beautiful road in the world Did you know that one of the most beautiful roads in the world is Portuguese? We talk about the Estrada Nacional 222, which takes you to discover the incredible Douro wine region. On our tour will pass on this amazing road and point out the most scenic views.
7. Folgosa
Our wine tour is not over yet! There is time to visit one more renown Winery. The winery expert guide will walk you through the estate ,explaining the process from the vinyard to the bottle ending with a magnificent tasting of three different types of wines.

Great overview of a special area - interesting stops and great food and wine. The boat trip was perhaps least favorite and 2 languages on the tour distracting and do not recall this when I booked.

Amazing experience. We had about 15 people in our group and I know people would prefer private but I a group we got to meet people and get tips for restaurants. Luciano was a great Tour guide and we booked directly with Living tours and it was very well organised. Wineries were fabulous and lunch was nice. Highly recommend

What an enjoyable day! Nuno was a terrific and knowledgeable guide. we learned a ton about the wine regions, history and local cuisine, and had a great time doing it. hiden gems in small towns, AMAZING lunch at a small winery, and breathtaking views. but it was the guide that made the tour exceptional! Thanks Nuno!

My family and I completed the Douro Valley tour with Rita as our tour guide and we had a wonderful time. The trip itself was extremely scenic and beautiful, the lunch itself was tasty! Unfortunately, we went during the rainy season so the boat ride was very cold, but c’est la vie!

Rita, our tour guide, was extremely insightful and explained everything so well! She is also very kind, for example, when I came to the bus a little late because of a long line for the toilet, she didn’t say anything negative but simply asked me if I was ok. Her positivity on life was infectious.

This was a very lovely and very different trip and wine tasting in Duoro Valley. Lovely food and plenty of great wine, presented by great hosts.

I would also recommend our fantastic tour guide - Ines and the accompanying driver. Interesting and fun information about the history and culture of Portugal.

My wife and I took the Complete Douro Valley Tour in May 2024 and it was a fantastic experience. Beautiful views, great food, delectable wines (mostly ports). Awesome personalities from everyone involved, and the trip was made even more enjoyable with the fun antics of Luciano and Silva, our tour hosts. Highly recommend while visiting Portugal.

I cannot recommend this tour enough. It was informative, full of beautiful sites and delicious wines (and food)! Luciano and Silva were fantastic. They were attentive, patient, hospitable and made us feel so taken care of during the trip. This is a must-do while in Porto. Well worth the trip!
