Explore the wine culture, through the most complete Douro Valley during a day excursion.
This amazing tour, gives you the opportunity to visit two of the best wine estates in the region and feel the essence of being in the heart of this precious wine region.
You will have the opportunity to learn the history of the wine estates and see all the wine cultivation and production process, being at the source of the Porto Wine. The "birthplace" of this unique nectar!
During the tour enjoy 6 wine tastings while admiring the astonishing landscapes and serenity of the Douro Valley, recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO, since 2001.
The guided visit to 2 different wine estates with tastings, a complete traditional lunch with Douro wines and a scenic 50 minutes cruise on the Douro River is included on this full package.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Porto
Your expert guide will collect you from your hotel/accommodation or meeting point and will drive you to the renown Douro region. On your way to the Douro, the guide will give you insights regarding the Portuguese history, development and cultural facts of portuguese heritage. Half Way through the drive to the Douro Region we will do a short stop for a coffee break.
2. The Douro Valley
Welcome to the Douro Region, famous for it's valley, Unesco World Heritage site, the oldest demarked wine region with unique landscapes of vineyards and the magical Douro river giving you the perfect background for a day of amazing wine tastings.
3. Sabrosa
Arriving in Sabrosa we will do our first visit of the day. We will discover the first of two wineries where you learn about the wine production and history of Douro Region, and its wines. You will have the oportunity to taste different wines before the lunch. A complete lunch will be served by the end of the visit: a full traditional portuguese meal with entrance, main dish, dessert, pairing with Douro red or white wine.

After lunch we will drive through the windy Douro roads on the way to Pinhão and we will do a quick photo stop at one of the most impressive viewpoints of the region. Enjoy the views and share with your friends and collegues on social media!
5. Pinhao
It's now time to sail! Enjoy a 50 minutes scenic cruise on the Douro river departing from Pinhão on board of a traditional Rebelo boat.

National Road 222: drive through the most beautiful road in the world Did you know that one of the most beautiful roads in the world is Portuguese? We talk about the Estrada Nacional 222, which takes you to discover the incredible Douro wine region. On our tour will pass on this amazing road and point out the most scenic views.
7. Folgosa
Our wine tour is not over yet! There is time to visit one more renown Winery. The winery expert guide will walk you through the estate ,explaining the process from the vinyard to the bottle ending with a magnificent tasting of three different types of wines.

I enjoyed our first stop in a small town with optional red and green wine tasting. We had our first wine tasting and river cruise before lunch, so we waited awhile before eating. Lunch was tasty, though. And even on a cloudy day, it was a nice cruise.

An amazing trip with 2 spectacular vineyards, the first has amazing views over the Duoro valley and the second provided a fantastic lunch. Knowledgeable staff, well put together.

Comfortable bus, good driving by alheida. informative guide, Orlando. Lunch was delicious. Wine tasting was actually 3 ports. Nice way to end the year.

We did the Douro valley tour with wine tasting and boat visit, and will recommend to all our family and friends because it is worth it. You get guided tastings in 2 vineyards, a 3-course lunch, boat ride and beautiful scenery in this mini-road trip. Our guide Nelson and driver Paolo were funny and very engaging with their factoids about Portuguese history, music, politics etc. There was also the mini surprise of seeing Ferdinand Magellan's house. Go before the harvest in September / October

We had a nice day with a lovely lunch from a local company. However, I was left with a sour taste in my mouth because our tour guide was extremely high-pressure, forcing everyone to give 5 star reviews and went around one-by-one watching people do it. She also taught the bus swear words in Portuguese (as requested by a passenger) in front of young children. So, I would say the tour was nice but don't necessarily trust the high scores on here because they were really forced.

Overall a great tour. Our day was very foggy but still a good value. Stopped at a winery, had three port wine tastings. Then went to a boat tour in Pinhao. Stopped for an amazing lunch with wine (other than port) and then to Amarante for a quick stop as well. Would love more wine tastings other than Port….but all in all, a lovely day.

Amazing day trip with Living Tours!
Luciano as the tour operator was amazing and quite entertaining! He kept us engaged all thru the 10 hours and he us into the hospitality industry. He has a great sense of humor.
Silvino as a driver is the safest! I would trust my life with him in the dangerous and curvy two way mountainous roads of the Duoro Valley!

Duoro valley tour with wine tasting and lunch was an amazing experience. The scenery and the hospitality offered at lunch was heavenly.
We got to taste several wines and eat freshly prepared lunch in an awesome setting.
Our tour guides Marta and Bruno were so helpful and friendly and explained well.

This was a perfect single day tour in Douro Valley, complete with sightseeing, lunch and wine tasting in a local Port winery. Marta - our guide - and Bruno - our driver - are amazing, making this a unique experience. Thanks to them we enjoyed every minute of the trip. Highly recommended, even if you are in Porto just for a couple of days.
