Colosseum & Ancient Rome Tour with Roman Forum & Palatine Hill

Giorgio made this tour super interesting and was very accommodating to the whole group! An excellent experience if you want to learn about the history of the Coloseum, palatine hill and Roman forum!

I reserved a Colosseum Semi-Private tour in February, looking forward to a family vacation to Rome in late May/early June. I looked forward to sharing with my family the full experience with both the underground and the attic.

Now, with less than two week until our departure, City Wonders cancels our tickets. Their email read “ We need to inform you that due to a change of management at the Colosseum, tickets are no longer available for your tour, therefore we will have to cancel it.”

No effort was made to place us into an alternate tour, and the company is still selling tours for that day. The “change of management” excuse sure seems to be a stretch, since it has been 9 months since the Colosseum changed their management approach with guides.

We were able to book another tour, but the Underground and the Attic will have to wait until next time I take my family half-way around the world. The stress of finding another tour at the last minute did not help my opinion. A solid tour company would have presented options to me instead of letting me spend several hours looking for another option.

I won’t book with City Wonders again on any of my travels. I’ve learned that if any issues come up, it is going to be my problem and they will not be an asset to me. I really prefer to be a loyal customer to a firm that values my business.

Wonderful tour of the Colosseum and Roman Forum. I had never been to the Palatine Hill before and now understand that it's a can't miss sight. Our guide was brimming with energy (Fabio) and took great care to learn the names of the 9 on the tour. We had a bit of a wait to get in to the Forum which some of our fellow tourists grumbled about, but it seems unavoidable given the popularity of the sights and sheer volume of tourists in Italy in May.

Emmanuel’s was the best guide ever. So upbeat, personable, and flirty in a good way teasing everyone. She made sure we knew she cared about our experience there. The whole tour is just amazing about the culture, the structure, the history and revitalization of the area. It was a highlight of Rome

Wonderful tour. Our guide Mirko was very informative. He managed to weave through the crowds to the best photo spots. Lots of walking. Wear comfortable shoes!

Thorough tour of the colosseum and forum. We were given enough time to observe and rest. We indeed skipped the long line. Totally worth it.

Learning so much from Maria!! She was kind and knowledgeable. Pickup area was up the stairs on top of metro station away from a lot of crowds. It was worth the money but it was a ton of walking stairs and hills. So glad I did this!!
