Our tour operator was Carpe Diem Tours. Barbara was our tour guide. Barbara grew up in Rome and had studied ten years to get her license. She was excellent! Barbara spoke English to us and was easily understood because of the use of a clip on over the ear headphone. The other tours we used in Rome used a microphone with ear plugs. I am not sure why all tours aren’t using the clip on. We had skip the line tickets and access to the Colosseum floor. It was well worth the cost. Barbara explained in great detail what we were observing and how the Colosseum functioned. We were able to access all levels with great views. After the Colosseum we again skipped the line to the Palatine Hill and Forum. Barbara continued her explanations of the areas with great detail. At the end of the tour we were given tickets for further access to areas not yet explored. I hope if you decide to go on this or a similar tour it is just as informative! We had a fantastic private tour with Paola F. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and engaging the entire time! We leaned so much and she also knew the best places to take photos. The Colosseum has changed it so very few can go in the Underground so that was canceled before we took the tour and we went to the Arena Floor instead and honestly it was totally fine. We didn’t feel like we were missing out. Overall I recommend this tour.

Elena was an excellent tour guide! She took the time to explain the history and background of all the critical aspects of the colosseum and Palatine Hill in Rome.

I didn’t find the tour very interesting. The guide had a very strong Italian accent and it was difficult to follow what she was saying.

The colosseum looks better from the outside however the Roman forum and palatine hill have more interesting views . It was too bad that we could not go back to these two as the tour ended in colosseum .

Great tour, very informative. Marco has a wealth of knowledge about Ancient Rome and is very enthusiastic to share with visitors. Wear comfortable shoes and bring sunscreen, though!

Our guide was an archeologist and was extremely informative! We learned a lot and really enjoyed. We were especially happy to hear her stories when we got to the Forum.

Eddy made the tour so fun and was full of great info that made Ancient Rome come to life for us! Our guide was very considerate of our needs and made it very interesting and fun.
