A very long day for kids! But so memorable.
For Viator: our tour guide had poor English skills. He was friendly and helpful but unfortunately none of the group could understand him. We were really looking forward to learning some Mayan history, but we’re not able to. Note that we do speak Spanish and are used to communicating with Mexican natives.

Wonderful tour with chill schedule. You will have plenty time to rest at the ruins, at the beach, have lunch and swim in a Cenote. Staying in Tulum will save you most the time in the bus, as it’s the last pickup and first drop off spot

Coba site is amazing!! Biking in the jungle and ruins is a unforgettable and very enjoyable experience

This is a wonderful small group. We had two tour guides for one Spanish and one English group. This means, I was only sharing the guide with two other guests. Easy to form nice relationship and ask any questions

Would highly recommend. Very luxurious experience in my opinion

Mimi was an amaaazing guide. So fun to listen to, and so kind. She answered all our questions, and really made sure we were having a good time. And the homemade tortillas - oh my god they were the best tortillas during our entire Mexican trip. Tulum was also breathtaking. It's amazing to think that a whole civilization lived and existed there with concepts and ideas as how we have now. What a great tour!

Amazing tour! All three of our children (ages 16, 14, 11) raved about it. I’m always skeptical when I only see positive reviews, but these are accurate.

Our itinerary was Talum, beach club, lunch, Coba, Cenote. We were picked up and dropped off directly in front of our hotel. It is 4 activities in one day, so you don’t really have time to look at every building in Talum or Coba. That said, it felt like about the right amount of time to be introduced to each site. Our guide, Jesus, is brilliant. He’s fluent in multiple languages, and has a deep understanding of the history of the Mayan and Yucatán and how those histories influence modern Mexico. We took advantage of the time in the van between sites to ask more questions and learn. Really, I cannot say enough good things about Jesus. (Note to the tour operators- I don’t know what you pay him, but give Jesus a raise. Your itinerary is good, Jesus made the tour exceed expectations and is absolutely why you get 5 stars).

There was a cooler of water in the van and lunch was sensational. (Drinks are not included in lunch - they were maybe 50 pesos each?) I recommend bringing some snacks, though. It’s an active day and we each went through a couple of granola bars.

We brought our swimsuits and changed at the beach and cenote. Some people just wore swimsuits the whole day. It depends on your comfort level, but either way you need your own towel if you want to dry off.

For us, there were two lower points. First, we felt some pressure to buy drinks at the beach club. It wasn’t required, but multiple people asked if we wanted something. That makes some sense as this is a tourist driven economy. My wife and I each had a cocktail and the bill was about 850 pesos. Second, the walk from the parking lot to the pyramid in Coba is about 20 minutes. We’re in pretty good shape and my kids are older, so it was enjoyable to look at the jungle and learn from Jesus. If the walk sounds challenging, there are bikes to rent or tricycle taxis for around 150 pesos round trip. My 11-year old wasn’t feeling the walk back down, so she and my wife took a tricycle for about 100 pesos (tricycle taxis fit 2 people).

Our family’s favorite part was swimming in the cenote. We knew very little about cenotes before the tour. We walked down a narrow, winding staircase (not easy for the claustrophobic). About 2-3 stories down it opened into a large domed cavern with a wooden deck. The water is cool and clean and beautiful. It’s about 15-feet deep. Bring clear goggles or a mask to see the formations on the bottom. Life jackets can be rented for 50 pesos.

Okay I think that’s all the major points. It was great. My family loved it. I highly recommend!

We booked the Tulum + Paradise Beach, Cobá, Cénote Trip. (21st Dec 23).

First and foremost, payment and being confident in the delivery of the product.
The link to pay was by Stripe Link. I have never heard of this and we a little apprehensive, but we paid and hoped it would be ok!
I can absolutely state that this went very smoothly and we received confirmation quickly that payment was made and the trip to Tulum was on!

The Tulum Experience.
Our tour guide was Gabriel and driver Fillipé.
The great thing was that we were a part of only 8, this was just as good as any $300 personal experience and you should bare this in mind when choosing your trip!

Straight from the start Gabriel set about the formalities of the what and where’s. This was great and I personally felt that this was a great beginning, as on other excursions I felt that the itinerary must not be deviated.

Tulum:-
This was superb and the whole Mayan experience that Gabriel explained was in depth and created a scene that would bring to life over 4,000 years of Mayan culture and history!
Gabriel knew all the best locations for photographs and also was our personal photographer (?).

Paradise Beach:-
The beach at Tulum is beautiful and amazing, well worth the visit. Due to setting out that little earlier we had the beach to ourselves! You’ll spend about an hour there (take Sun cream and towels!).

Lunch:-
After about 1 hour we arrived at Cobá ready for our lunch. It’s local to Cobá and literally a stones throw from the Cobá Ruins. The food was very good and we all were well fed! Take some money for extra drinks and also the local souvenir shop next door.
If you’re lucky you may see the Alligators in the marshy area in front of the restaurant!

Cobá Mayan Ruins:-
It’s a longer walk to the main ruins but easily manageable. But you can either jump on a bike or be a passenger on a trike (a few dollars). Gabriel again was great bringing to life the Cobâ way of life many years ago!
We visited a second ruin and heard more culture about the honey bees of Cobá. You can purchase Tequila from the entrance/exit if you want to, it is very tasty and I recommend the mango!

Cenoté:-
The Cenoté was 10 minutes away and 18 meters below ground. The temperature of the water was warmer than I expected and we spent about 1/2 hour swimming and snorkelling.

So, the day! It was a great adventure and the driver (Fillipé) and guide (Gabrielle) were outstanding! I would without reservations recommend using this company for your Tulum day trip.

Guide was great and informative.

Tulum and Coba were both super cool to see, lots of history and crazy to imagine the scale of it all. The cenote is underground, so that adds a unique experience.

My only caution would be that for people taking this tour from Cancun, it ends up being a 14 hour day. Much better to take this tour from Tulum

Second full-day tour on our vacation. First was Chichen Itza and Ek Balam with same tour company.

For me this was a perfect tour from start to finish. The limited group made it very personal and easy to ask questions. Our group was a total of 6 people but tour can accommodate 12. Santonia was our guide and was a wealth of knowledge. We found that he was also quite a photographer and knew some of the best spots to take pictures. He was very nice and took pictures of each couple in many different locations at each site. Finally have good photos of my husband and I together on vacation. Thank you Santonia.

How long is this tour exactly, you may ask. The answer is relatively long, for my husband and I, it started with a 6:00 a.m. pick up. The tour originates in the Playa del Carmen area and the driver picked us up first in Cancun (a little over an hour drive one-way). Our driver German was excellent and arrived promptly at 6:00 a.m. Three stops later all participants and our guide were onboard. Tulum is located on the coast about an hours drive south of Playa del Carmen. From start to finish it was a little over a 12 hour day for us since we were first picked up and last to be dropped off.

Tulum is a beautiful Mayan archeological site on the water. It was the gateway for trade to the area. We arrive at the site when they opened and were among the first groups entering the site. This site can become quite crowed with tourist due to its ease of access. Arriving early is the best option. Santonia gave us a lot of background information on the geography of the area and the importance of Tulum to the Maya civilization. We spent just over an hour on the tour and by the end the site was starting to become very busy.

Our driver German picked us up at the exit and took as the quick trip to Paradise Beach. At this location we were given an hour to enjoy the beach or stop for a beverage at the hotel beach bar. Boat rentals were available to show you the coastline in front of the archeological site or you could take a dip in the water or walk on the beach.

Next stop was lunch, an hours drive from the beach. Lunch is served buffet style and you pay for drinks only. The food was delicious and had a lot of variety. The restaurant was located very close to the Coba location.

Coba is very large, remote, and in a jungle setting. Once you enter the site you will have a short walk to the first building. Wild turkey can be viewed and don’t seem intimidated by tourist. Santonia gave us information regarding the site, and safety issues (specific tree bark can cause skin irritation if touched). Bicycles or two person bicycle carts with driver can be rented at this starting location. Approximately $10 US for the cart and is well worth every penny. This site is large an spread out and it is more efficient to utilize the carts. Santonia gave the drivers locations and we hopped from place to place during the tour. The drivers waited by the roadway at each location. We were given information about each location and given time to photograph, ask questions and look around at each. Climbing is no longer permitted at this location to prevent the additional wear on the building. We spent approximately 2 hours at this location.

Final destination Multaun-Ha Cenote. This cenote is in a remote location all by itself. There are changing booths and a shower available. There are no lockers and no towels. You can take your belongings with you to the cenote or put in the van. The cenote if in a cavern that is accessed by a spiral staircase that leads to a platform. The cavern is lit by a single light mounted on the ceiling of the cavern. Water is crystal clear and refreshing (cool but not cold). Stalactites hang from the ceiling. Not crowded, our small group of 6 and 2 others were all that were there. There is ample room on the platform to leave you possessions and will be in your line of site from the water.

Bottled water is supplied to you all day by the tour group. Recommend that you bring bathing suit, towel, sunscreen, and bug spray. The jungle setting of Coba has the potential of being buggy depending on recent weather. Our trip did not require bug spray. Amazing experience that did not disappoint.

Our tour guide was Rene and his partner (so sorry I forgot her name). This was by far our favourite day of the entire holiday.
Small group & knowledgeable friendly tour guide is the way to go, Rene and the team was perfect for this.
The whole day went smoothly and was well planned. We never felt rushed and was given enough time to take in the information given and free time to relax by the sea.
Tulum & Coba were amazing to see. Felt like a real adventure being cycled through the forest stopping at various points to take in the ruins of Coba.
Lunch was buffet style, fresh and varied.
They were so caring and thoughtful, showing concern when my husband started to feel slightly unwell.
Thankfully the refreshing waters of the cenote helped with that.
If you're only going to do one day trip during your holiday....make sure its this one!
