Our mangrove glass bottom kayak & snorkel tour begins at the lovely beach from Lac Cai. The Bonaire Mangrove reserve is located in Lac Bay National Park. Visitors can only enter the mangroves in the company of an experienced nature guide. Your stable, glass bottom sit-on-top kayak is equipped with a comfortable backrest seat, a waterproof bag for your personal belongings and, of course, paddles. Off you go, into the calm waters.
The glass bottom kayak provides an ideal mode of transport in this beautiful and tranquil environment, as you manoeuvre with ease through the mangrove shallows and tunnels.
Gliding by four different species of mangrove trees in crystal-clear waters, paddling past bird habitats and fish spawning areas, you'll learn of the relationship between the plants and the animals. The snorkel location offers a great variety of marine life and is considered by many a must-do while visiting Bonaire!

This was a great experience. We had amazing views of the water while kayaking and the snorkeling was very cool. The tour guide was very knowledgable about the environment and also served refreshments and snacks at the end. I definitely recommend!

This was so cool to do! We were taken by Tijmen and Jordi. First everything was explained and then we were guided into the kayaks. We stopped regularly along the way to talk about the area. That was done seriously and also with the necessary humor.
Snorkeling between the mangroves is truly a different experience. Very special to experience this.
At the end we received a delicious fruity drink and a fantastic snack. If you are on Bonaire, this is highly recommended! Tijmen and Jordi did this very well and it was fantastic fun, you really notice that they take their job seriously and enjoy doing it!

A completely different part of Bonaire. Fun for kids and also easy to do in terms of character. It's not far, so from the age of about 10 they could get into a boat themselves. Beautiful starfish seen.

Stan was our guide and it looked like he had a degree in 'Nature'. He could tell you everything about the things you see or wanted to know. With a twist of humor he gives you a nice experience in this part of the island. Keep up the good job!

Loved our guide on 4/19. Very knowledgable of island info and if the mangroves. He was funny and kept us all smiling. Don’t let your kids tell you they only need goggles-use a snorkel or it’s not the same experience during the swimming portion. It is over their heads in the middle section but very easy to float and watch the fish if you have a snorkel. Snorkels are provided if you need them.

I have done Mangrove Kayak tours before in other ports - this Bonaire experience was the best. Guide picked us up at Port (+$20), drove us to site where we waited around for them to get organized (only negative comment). All of us had experience kayaking, so they didn't spend time on instruction. (No PFDs were offered) Best highlight was snorkeling thru mangrove. We chose not to snorkel, but instead, we walked/swam thru the mangrove tunnel and saw large clusters of fish feeding on the mangrove roots, also crabs & mollusks. While I didn't touch anything, I could have, it was all up close & in their natural environment. I felt safe at all times on this excursion. Really beautiful, and I felt it was a good value for the price of excursion. Would do it again.

Very bad, incomprehensible guide!
No assistance with boarding from the start of the excursion. The excursion would be accessible to everyone, but on the day we went kayaking, the water was very rough at the entry point. As a result, our canoe quickly filled with water and we lost our underwater camera. The rest of our stuff also started to float and the guide simply said that this was normal, that the kayak could sometimes fill up and that it would not sink (what about our stuff?! Not a word was said about that). The guide only took action much too late, so we permanently lost our camera. We have a damage amount of more than € 650. Thank you!
He then showed no understanding for the loss of the camera and even blamed us for holding up the group and for influencing the atmosphere during the excursion. After an argument with him and a phone call he made to his boss, we were suddenly allowed to come along.
This was truly outrageous at its finest!
We've never experienced this before...
Never again for us!
The sad thing was that the mangrove unfortunately didn't look like much (you didn't even see one bird) and the transparent bottom plate of the kayak was also completely unnecessary: you couldn't see anything because of the cloudy water.
If I may give one piece of advice: view the mangrove (with the beautiful flamingo colonies!) from the road in Bonaire with binoculars and keep the money from this overpriced excursion in your pocket.
Do you want to see a really beautiful mangrove including snorkeling? Then go to Mexico, to Sian Ka'an: we had a great experience here!

Knowledgeable guide and off-the-beaten path kayaking and snorkeling. All six of us loved it. Snorkeling amidst mangrove roots!
