What was meant to be the highlight of our trip to the Big Island turned out to be a waste of our time and money. This helicopter company claims to cancel or postpone tours if the weather doesn't look favorable, but that certainly wasn't our experience.
We booked the tour specifically to see the volcano, and yet as soon as we were in the air, the pilot mentioned that the weather wasn't cooperating what he was supposed to know before takeoff, right? We traveled all the way from Kona for this disappointing outcome and never got to see the volcano.
If the weather was questionable, they should have either rescheduled or canceled the flight, but they didn't. Their lack of communication and disregard for customer satisfaction made for an extremely frustrating experience. Do not trust this company if you want reliability and transparency. Save your time and money by choosing a more reputable operator.

If I could give more stars I would! This tour is great and all the crew are amazing! I highly recommend it, I was a little afraid of helicopters but this one I enjoyed from begging to end! Very professional and 100% recommended!

My 2 daughters and I had an amazing experience with Blue Hawaii. Our helicopter pilot was professional, had a great sense of humor, and had a great sound track for the 50 min helicopter tour. We can’t thank the pilot enough. This was our first tour on a helicopter and we will never forget the great memories of this trip.

We got lucky as earlier flights was cancelled due to weather. We had some light rain and clouds but were able to see all the volcanoes we flew over, some smoke and some red heat radiating from the ground, though no lava. Amazing seeing the damage the lava flow causes with the large long and wide trails of devastation left behind and the trees to the side that weren’t in the lavas path.

Our pilot took a little extra time to return to volcano after clouds had cleared. His commentary was excellent and he was careful to circle the copter so that everyone could see.
