Our guide was very informative and pointed out a lot of really neat things on this walk both animals and plants. We brought out 3 yo with us and he had an absolute blast. He loved seeing all the animals especially the mama and baby sloth. He enjoyed making his own chocolate and getting to sample the rest. We would definitely do this tour again.

We arrived for the tour just as it was getting dark. Our tour guide, Alex, spoke great English and he was amazing! He spotted sloths, bats, red-eyed tree frogs, an iguana, a Jesus Christ lizard, and a number of other creatures. Alex brought along flashlights for us to use and a scope which he helped us take pictures through. He was very knowledgeable and lots of fun. The chocolate demonstration was fascinating and we got to make our own chocolate at the end of the tour. Alex also gave us a brief history of Costa Rica which was very informative.

If you are interested in seeing the night critters, I highly recommend this night tour. If you are more interested in the chocolate process, you may want to book the day tour when you would be able to see things better. Either way, I highly recommend Don Juan and the tour guide, Alex!

My wife and I attended the Chocolate and night tour. We had an amazing time. the guide was funny and very informative. I learned so much about cocoa, the region, wildlife, and the chocolate making process. We got to make our own chocolate, taste many things, and we saw a lot of beautiful wildlife. I would highly recommend this tour.

I decided to take this tour as an extra after a day of Ziplines and Hot Thermal Springs, and I am so glad I did. This tour is very unique as the tour guide mixes in the unique aspects of the Costa Rican Cocoa frming with wildlife.

We started off picked up at the Don Juan store down town and it was a short 7 minute bus ride to the cocoa farm. Flashlights are provided by the tour guide. I can say I was lucky to have a private tour that night as no one else booked it.

I got to see them roast coco beans starting off and tasting the rich chocolate in it's natural shell (It was bein processed and tasted great). We then moved on into the cocoa fields going through the steps taken in cocoa preparation (including fermentation and grinding). Then at the end I got to taste a few unique cocoa drinks that don't find in Walmart, the cocoa tea I had 3 cups (it was that good), I also had what was called the 'Drink fo the Gods'.

We then continued going nature searching deep in the back of the farm where I got to Sloths, snakes and many frogs in the wild. We concluded the tour with a stop at their gift shop before I was taken back to town. I highly recommend this tour.

(NOTE: The pics I posted are stills from my GoPro cam so they are not the best but will give you an idea.
