1. St. Stephen's Basilica (Szent Istvan Bazilika)
You will visit the impressive Saint Stephen's Basilica built for the memory of the first Hungarian king (died in 1038). It has many statues and frescoes, as well as the mummified right hand of the first king. The church is open every day, except Sunday morning religious service.
2. Szabadsag ter
You will see the dramatic monuments of the Nazi and Soviet occupations and dictatorships as well as the miraculous fountain (during the warm season).
3. Hungarian Parliament Building
You will admire one of the most impressing parliament buildings of the world with its amazing history.
4. Kossuth Lajos Square
You will see the memories of the Hungarian freedom heroes and the 1956 revolution against the Communist dictatorship.
5. Shoes on the Danube Bank
A shocking monument of local Jewish martyrs of the WW2 genocide.
6. Central Market Hall
Admire the architecture of the greatest historical market hall of the world. There are hundreds of food vendors and souvenir shops. If you wish you we can spend enough time on shopping or tasting some typical Hungarian market snack.
7. Hungarian National Museum
The captivating building of the oldest Hungarian museum.
8. Deak Ferenc Square
The central traffic junction of Budapest. From here you can enter the old town of Pest, and the Inner City commercial and touristy center.
9. Buda Castle
We will cross the river Danube and get to the Castle of Buda from where you will see the most beautiful panoramic view of the city. The Castle Quarter is the oldest district of Budapest plenty of cute Medieval dwelling houses.
10. Fisherman's Bastion
As the last stop of the tour you will have the chance to admire one of the most beautiful and fascinating places in Budapest, the Fishermen's Bastion with the famous panorama over the river Danube and the Hungarian Parliament building.
11. Matthias Church
We will walk around the beautiful Matthias Church built in the Middle Ages in Gothic style. Upon request it is possible to visit it inside with your tour guide. The inside visit takes about 30 minutes and includes all the rich artworks as well as a small historical exhibition on the upper floor. The church is closed on Sunday mornings during religious service, and sometimes on Saturdays due to wedding ceremonies.
12. Szechenyi Lanchid
The iconic bridge is under renovation currently (from 2021 to 2022).
13. Heroes' Square
Walk through the impressive Heroes' Square, the largest square in Budapest. In the middle of the square you find the Millennium Monument, while on its two sides you will see the Arts Hall and the Fine Arts Museum.
14. Millenium Monument Budapest
Visit the Millennium Monument, commemorating 1000 years of Hungarian history. In front of the monument you will find the grave of the unknown heroes, while in the colonnades around you can admire the statues of the greatest kings and leaders of the country.
15. Vajdahunyad Castle (Vajdahunyadvar)
Explore Budapest City Park, the oldest public park in the world. Walk over a bridge to reach an island on the lake, home to the romantic Vajdahunyad Castle. All around the courtyard there are copies of buildings representing different periods and styles of Hungarian architecture.
16. Anonymus Szobor (Anonymous' Statue)
In the inner courtyard of the castle you will discover the interesting statue of Anonymus, the first history writer of Hungary who lived in the 12th century.
17. Szechenyi Baths and Pool
You will pass by the main building of the famous Szechenyi Baths, the largest thermal bath of Europe. Through the windows you will be able to see the outdoor pools and people swimming in the warm water.
18. Andrassy Avenue
Admire the elegant Andrassy Avenue, the 2 miles long historical thoroughfare of the city. The Millennium Subway (Budapest Metro line 1, built in 1896) runs under the avenue, and preserved its beautiful original stations.
19. Hungarian State Opera House (Magyar Allami Operahaz)
One of the most beautiful opera theatres of the world. You will learn about its interesting history, architecture and rich artworks.

We totally enjoyed our day tour with Alexandra. She immediately helped us purchase a metro pass for the day and proceeded to show us the city. Alexandra knew much history and so many details of the places she took us. We saw both sides of the river. She took us to a great confectionary for lunch. We caught the changing of the guard at the prime minister's office. Alexandra was very patient as I asked her details for my notebook. She took us to the Central market and helped us shop. Alexandra's English was fluent. I recommend the tour and Alexandra as your guide most highly!

There is no better way to see the city and learn the history of this beautiful place. Our guide Alexandra was the best! She really knew the history of the city and Hungary. She was very kind and answered all of our questions about the history of the country. You could tell that she really likes what she does. We got to see all the main sites of the city and learn about it. If you are in Budapest for a short time, this is the best way to get the most out of the city! Totally worth it!

I have thoroughly enjoyed the tour especially with the company and guidance of my fantastic tour guide Alexandra. She was marvellous, friendly and always so helpful. She was so committed and passionate in her work and so willing to impart information to me. I have learnt much about the history and architecture of Budapest from her.

This was a fantastic tour that covered all the important sites in Pest and Buda. I can’t say enough good things about our guide Dahlia! She was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and kind. She answered all our questions and helped us figure out how to get to our tour meeting point the next day. I highly recommend this tour and Dahlia!

This was a fantastic private tour. My guide (Akexandra) was extremely knowledgeable about everything I saw (and always had a helpful answer to my random questions). We managed to see a good set of Budapest highlights in one day, including many things I'd never have spotted without the expertise of my guide. It was a friendly and professional tour. Our tour guide, Alexandra, was very polite and had a lot of knowledge of the area. She is a really good person to get to know. Having newly arrived in Budapest, my wife and I were very happy that she could meet us at our hotel. We started in the Castle Hill area, seeing all the main sites. We then ventured across the Danube to Pest side, again, visiting all the main sites. We were introduced to some of the sites that did not have entrance too and were able to come back to visit those later on our own.
