An excellent tour of family-owned, unique taco stands and small restaurants! Our guide, Star, introduced us to amazing flavors and experiences while sharing the history and cultural significance of the mighty taco. We learned (and ate!) a lot. The small group (there were just six of us) made the tour intimate. I highly recommend Vallarta Local and Star!

Amazing delicious food tasting at local taco stands & restaurants in local neighborhoods in the Romantica area. We tasted a variety of tacos & salsas. This tour was about the food of Mexico & how it evolved to what it is today. Star, our guide, was knowledgeable, enthusiastic & loved sharing the best of Mexico. Can’t wait to do the afternoon tour next time we’re here.

An amazing tour. Star, our guide, was so informative, providing us with knowledge on Mexican food and culture that we wouldn't have otherwise known. She was happy to answer any questions, taught us the perfect taco stand etiquette and, of course, the food was amazing at every single stop that she chose to include along the way. We definitely wouldn't have eaten as authentically as this on our first trip to Mexico if it wasn't for Star and this tour.

Not just a variety of delicious dishes but lots of local history, interesting and useful cultural practices delivered in fun interactive conversation. Throughout the tour efforts were made to reduce the use of single use plastics.

Star, our guide, is a star! If you are with someone on tour, please start splitting ur tacos immediately! There are so many tacos but little belly space. Save room for the Taco Dorado...crunchy Berria taco....our favorite!

Estrella was a wonderful guide with an incredible amount of knowledge of not just the local vendors, but also Mexican history. The food was delicious and the aguas frescas refreshing . We are looking forward to taking another tour with her soon!

STAR IS AMAZING 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 she was an amazing host and was an excellent guide through our local food tour. She provided such a rich history to the foods we ate and had such a wonderful energy and brought us to places that we probably would’ve never been. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone that would like the “non-touristy” vibe of PV and dive into the rich culture of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
