The Phoenix Tucson Box Canyon Tour happens in Florence, Arizona, about halfway between Tucson and Phoenix on State Route 79. Driving time from either city is approximately 1.5 hours depending on your location.
Our trail is about 34 miles in length and about 3.25 hours in duration. Elevation gain and descent is over 1500 vertical feet as we climb up and over the front range of the Pinal Mountains.
Along the tour your guide will point out Indian petroglyphs left over from the ancient Native Americans. Another point of interest is an old adobe building that served as a way station for the Butterfield Overland Stage Coach Company during the 1860’s Express on what was know as the “Butterfield The real highlight of the tour is Box Canyon.
The middle 3 miles is slot canyon with walls that are about 1500 feet high on both sides and only about 15-20 feet apart in some places. The scenery is incredible!

Ray was our guide and he was great. The terrain was a little tough and we all handled like a champ. The views were stunning.

We had a great time. Beautiful scenery. Nice ride to go on if you don't know the area. I would highly recommend this ride. I knew Box Canyon was very scenic but didn't know where to go. Bill was a great guide

This was a cool tour. The riding double option plus $40 for the second rider keeps the tour affordable. 3 hour tour. 34 miles, with 10 in the Box Canyon. The guide was good. The Greek restaurant Mount Athos was a good spot for lunch in Florence. I believe we had 6 total ATV's on the tour including the driver.

This is an absolutely do not miss excursion! Bill was so nice and made the trip incredibly fun! He also shared knowledge and awesome stories that brought the activity to life. My friend and I were even running late from the airport after our flight came in late and ATV adventures waited for us which was incredibly considerate given we were late. Bill made us feel comfortable before riding with his training and the tour itself was breathtakingly beautiful and also exhilarating. I can’t rave enough about how fun this was and how it made our trip to AZ that much better! Definitely recommend!

We wanted to experience an ATV ride in Sedona AZ but upon searching the locations, we found this tour close to Gilbert AZ, which is where our daughter lives. I booked the tour for 6 people in my family. When we arrived at the location, there were a couple in our tour group as well. So there were just 4 ATVs in our tour group plus the tour guide's ATV. It felt like a private tour for us. The location was kind of hard to find in the GPS but they are good at giving directions.
The guide taught us how to handle the ATV and we were allowed to practice in a small area first. After 15 minutes, we went straight to the Box Canyon. The canyon view was so awesome. At times w had to ride through uneven rocky trails, which is what the ATV is supposed to perform in these rough conditions.
The ride was very dusty, so the guide gave us bandanas to cover our faces (which we got to keep). Overall, I really recommend this tour if you're visiting Phoenix.

We did the Box Canyon, ATV tour and Ray was our tour guide. As it turned out it was just the 3 of us and Ray, so it turned out to be a private tour. After a quick overview of how to operate the 4 wheelers we were off. We were on paved roads for about 2 miles then off road. Total tour was a little bit over 30 miles. The trails were easy to navigate and the 4 wheelers easy to operate. We saw lots of wildlife, sticky plants and beautiful scenery. I highly recommend the tour.
