The tour was great. We loved it. It was a small group of seven. Frederica, the tourguide, was great. She was polite and gave everyone her attention. And the most important thing, she was passionate about art. She was very informative when talking about the highlights she picked. Ahe covered every item was in my mind before the tour. Highly recommended.

Outstanding museum, definitely well worth the visit. I am sure that you could visit the museum a dozen times, and still find works of art to amaze and please any person who appreciates art and history. I am a Caravaggio enthusiast, and I appreciated the our guide's knowledge of his paintings. I will come back. Our guide was a Professor of Art History and he was wonderful, simply wonderful.
The only downside of the tour was the garden tour was non-existent. We should have been told that the summer heat depleted the gardens and given a refund for that part of the tour. Even though we traveled in September, the garden was depleted of beauty except for a few bougainvillea. We did not even venture into the gardens at all. We looked from the outside.

This was hands down our favorite tour in Tome, and we did a lot of them! Our guide Federica was so charming and interesting, and gave us a lot of context about the art we were seeing, through the people who collected it, commissioned it, and of course those who made it. Political intrigue, art theft, and the private, often hidden lives of the characters behind this collection of works made for a very compelling tour. Federica was charismatic and engaging, and I honestly would do this tour again. In the winter if you book an afternoon tour, I suggest you arrive early to give you some time to explore the gardens on your own while it’s still light out. She gave us a brief overview but it was getting dark so we didn’t explore as much as we wanted to after the tour. An absolutely gorgeous place.
