From the heart of the city to the tastes of the country, this tour takes you on a historical, architectural, and culinary adventure through the many faces (and tastes) of Bucharest! Journey deep into the neighbourhoods of La Belle Époque Bucharest, while sampling the traditional peasant foods that define Romanian cuisine.

1. National Theatre Ion Luca Caragiale (Teatrul Nakional Ion Luca Caragiale)
Your Bucharest tour begins at the National Theatre the geographical and administrative heart of the city, and the scene of titanic street battles between miners and students immediately after the Romanian Revolution.

We will take a short walk to Strada Batistei, formerly known as the 'St Germain' of Bucharest and the site of the old American embassy, now an overgrown testament to different times. This area is famed for its 19th-century Neo Romanian architecture that defines much of the national style.

We will pass by the Batiștei Church (Romanian: Biserica Batiștei) is a Romanian Orthodox church with an interesting history.

We'll then make your way to the Armenian quarter. The Armenians were a vibrant and successful merchant community in the 18th and 19th centuries, thanks to their valuable role as 'middlemen' for the Ottomans. Based around the Armenian church, their mahalla (neighborhood) features a spectacular variety of architectural styles from all over Europe and the Ottoman empire, as the wealthy merchants strove to out-do each other in taste and elegance. Classical, Belle Époque, Modernist, New-Romanian, Balkanic, eclectic — this quarter boasts all these styles, including the oldest documented house in Bucharest, which you will visit.
5.
After, we'll experience the quintessential Bucharest public transport: a short ride on a tram. Rattling along the famous Mosilor Street, you’ll enter into Communist Bucharest, with its regimented blocks and housing projects, as you make your way to the famous Obor Market.
6. Piata Obor Bucuresti
We will spend some time in the main market of the city bustling with colours smells and amazing street food to enjoy. You will have time to do some shopping for traditional items after which we will sit down to taste some local produce and extremely tasty street food.

This was one of the best tours I've ever done. We were in a small group and learned a lot about Romanian culture and history, architecture, and food. Our guide Adrian was very knowledgeable and we had a great time. Highly recommend!

Yes, we had delicious food on this tour (loved the sausages and cheese!) but there was more. As we walked from stop to stop our knowledgeable guide Elena used the architecture to tell us about Romania’s and Bucharest's history. If you want to explore Romanian cuisine while learning about the city and the country, take Elena's food tour. I highly recommend it.

Great casual walk. Elena was super chatting and taking me thru the walk and the stops for food and drink were good. Bucharest is a nice city with lots of trees and parks.

Andra was exceptional, she knew her stuff about Bucharest and we had a great time wandering around the city and going to a market. We specifically didn't want to do museums and so chose this tour. Highly recommended.

Hi there. My wife and I had an absolutely amazing experience seeing the behind the scenes of the Bucharest city by a young genetic tour guide Adrian. He had a full of local knowlege, full of information that we need to know. He stayed longer than the tour suppose to be. My wife and I surpassed our expectation, each of those stops were as described and value. My wife and I really enjoy it and highly recommend it to everyone. Thank you Adrian.

We had a fantastic Friday afternoon with Elena in Bucharest. My girlfriend and I were the only ones on the tour and we were a little apprehensive initially as one on one tours can occasionally a bit a little awkward (especially for 5 hours!) - however these fears were completely belayed as she was incredibly friendly and was willing talk all things Romania and was incredibly insightful and generous with her stories and information about Bucharest's history and modern and old town landscapes. The food was delicious and touring the market was great to see how Bucharest locals interact and enjoy their afternoon. Meals included pretzels for morning snack, artichoke dips at a nice restaurant, meats + cheese + fruit + sausages at the market picnic style in a nice local garden spot then a local donut for dessert to top it off. Oh and local beers with each meal, obviously! Thanks Elena - we had a fantastic day!

Safe, lovey city with lots to offer. We enjoyed the food and the shops. There is so much to see, and it is easy to get around town. However, they no longer have the Hop on Hop off trolley available.

Wow! I had an amazing time with my toddler, my mom and my sister! Bogdan was the most helpful guide and even accommodated us when we were running behind! Its so great to experience new cultures and food- i would take the same tour again! Highly recommend!
