We did not see many animals during the tour. Although our guide was doing his best, we think the tour was overpriced and we won't recommend it.

Our guide, a professional naturalist, Froy was extremely knowledgeable about the birds and wildlife in the park. We saw dozens of species of birds including a very difficult to see Chuck-Wills-Widow sleeping high in a tree. He found many birds in his spotting scope as well as a female eyelash pit viper curled up on a large leaf. He was very good at spotting birds across the valley from the reception area and showed us in the spotting scope. Our tour started at a little after 5am which is a great time to see birds as they're very active then. Also there are few people on the trails that early The park has mobility scooters for rent which was useful. They can access most of the trails. Highly recommend Froy as a guide when you visit this park.

Wonderful, wonderful guide (Roy). He was so attentive, knowledgeable and and really cared about us having a great visit. I just "personally" thought it was a little boring. I had down the Canyon Rappelling the day before and this tour was more about hiking and going over about 5 hanging bridges. I just like a more thrill seeking adventure. The whole trail is about 2 miles and we stopped to see different vegetation but to be honest, we did not see too much wildlife. Maybe I was expecting more than this actual tour offered. I was expecting to see monkeys, and other animals, with some species of birds and other animals. Please realize this is a personal experience, in no way or shape has anything to do with the company or the tour guides. It was just a tad boring for me.

My husband and I went on a private birdwatching tour with Froy, our guide. We saw so many birds toucans, motmots, kingfisher, Jamacars and many more we also saw Anoles lizards and families of spider monkeys and howlers and tarantulas…
The most important part is that we would have missed 90% (or more) of these creatures without the experience and genius of Froy. He was amazing. Not only was he extremely knowledgeable he was entertaining and kind and very obviously loved his job. I highly recommend this tour and this tour guide.

Nice park but a third of it is closed at the moment , so you can see the waterfall and miss out from hanging bridge 10 to 16.
Quite misleading as not mentioned on the website and still sold full price .
You don’t get a chance to book anywhere as it is too late by the time you find out so keep this in mind when booking your tickets

We had an amazing tour!! We would not have seen most of the birds & wildlife without our guide Gabriel- he is extremely knowledgeable about all the species of birds as well as the other wildlife, plants & trees, mushrooms, snakes, bugs etc. We also had the whole park nearly to ourselves for almost the whole tour. A few highlights were motmots, coati, spider monkeys were in the trees right over our heads, eyelash viper, and many many species of birds. We walked with pauses to look at various birds etc for about 3 hours. The paths were mostly smooth & easy to walk on. We walked about 8000 steps - he had us decide from a couple of map options our preference & we chose one with more bridges- which was fun & gave spectacular views.
There is significant up & down hills. One in our family group leaned on a railing & got bit or stung by a bb ant (not a bullet ant but still painful). It's the real rainforest experience. The drive is about 30 minutes from LaFortuna. The bridges themselves sway a bit and bounce up & down. Originally some family members in their 80's one with cane use were going to go, and this would not be a good choice for those with mobility issues, unable to walk a few miles etc. They decided not to go. There are motor scooters that we saw near the entrance but I am.not sure where they are able to go. I'd call or reach out before doing that. It didn't seem like they would work on the trails or bridges but definitely inquire.
This was truly a must see and a real rainforest experience. Well worth the tour.

One of the best guided tours of our vacation. Our tour guide (Anderson) was very knowledgeable and patient. It rained for most of the walk so we did not see a ton of birds, but he pointed out multiple birds, lizards, bats, snakes and frogs. Walking across the hanging bridges made it even better. Thank you Anderson!

We enjoyed our early morning tour with Carlos. He was knowledgeable and patient with the six of us, which was a perfect size for a group. We all had a chance to view wildlife through the scope, which allowed us to see birds close up. He was sharing information about local plants, and habits from the animals we viewed.

The bridges gave a variety of views of the canopies and birds at different levels. We met some nice people, enjoyed nature, and made some great memories.

Gabby met us promptly, at 6:00 a.m. at the entrance to the park. We were the only two people in the tour, so we got spoiled. She was friendly, knowledgeable, professional and spoke perfect English. She was warm, enthusiastic and was dedicated to us having a good time. She even showed us how to use our binoculars correctly to find the birds faster. Who knew you could use binoculars wrong, right? But we were. Before we entered the park, she spotted over four birds. She used her monoscope to help us see them close up, and even put our phone cameras up to the monoscope to take perfect, brilliant pictures for us. The tour lasted just about 3 hours. We spotted multiple birds, snakes, lizards, frogs, wild pigs and monkeys. She took pictures of us and we took pictures together, to create fabulous memories. Would highly recommend. As a side note, right after we got started on a tour, there were two different employees using gas-powered equipment to do work inside the park. She was so upset by this, and the noise and disturbance it created, she promptly went over to both of them and told them to stop. They did. She told us they're not allowed to do that, especially early in the morning during a birding tour, but they often neglect to follow the rules.

Thank you Gabriella for a wonderful experience.

Pura Vida, Rita & Bryan
