I really liked the tour cause it’s a good way to go around Tasmania without renting a car. On day two and three it takes more time to go to the nationalparks than staying there. That’s a bit sad but still worth it. The unzoo was a real highlight for me. Haven’t expected to ever recommend a zoo in my life. Apart from this you can also see a lot of wildlife like wild wombats!

This tour was awesome. Trevor the tour guide is an absolute legend. He is witty, knowledgeable, passionate and intelligent. His love for Tasmania is so evident in the way he talks about it. He has an incredible understanding of the natural environment, imparting his wisdom about flora and fauna. He is also well versed in environmental advancements taking place in Tasmania. He incorporated the history into the tour, acknowledging the atrocities like the killing of the aboriginal people when settlers arrived. He incorporated the traditional names of Hobart/Nipaluna and Mt Wellington/kunanyi. Trevor made this tour so special and I hope you have the pleasure of touring with him too.

My only feedback is - don't expect a 3 day tour with a group who you would get to know. Only a few of us did all 3 days, others were doing individual days of the tour - so maybe not so good if you're solo traveling and looking to make connections.

The 3 fabulous days tour with 3 different drivers (David, Nick and Graeme) who have lots of knowledge, friendly and so helpful is a top-notch. Thank you guys, keep up your good work!

The historic place of Port Arthur, to see and experience the wildlife from the unzoo, amazing views and walks of Wineglass Bay & Cradle Mountain and extra little stops at some places every morning & afternoon to try locals snacks, this tour is for sure worth for money, worth for visit and worth it all.

No complaints for the buses we took, clean & aircon flows, and drivers follow the protocol for the COVID safety too.
Thanks to Graeme for some very useful tips and information on our free day in LST.

Recommended 3D TASMANIA COMBO TOUR!

Day 1 - The weather on the day of the tour was not ideal, lightly raining nearly the entire day, but I still had a lot of fun. The day started early picking everyone up from their hotels before making a quick stop shortly outside on Hobart for anyone wanting to grab a quick coffee/snack and use the restroom before getting on with the day. We made our way to the Waterfall Bay Cliff Top Walk and seeing the Tasman National Park highlights including the Devil's Kitchen and Tasman Arch. The walk itself was pretty easy. From there, we made our way to the Unzoo where we got to feed kangaroos and see a Tasmanian Devil being fed. We then went to the Port Arthur Historic Site which had two small cafes to purchase lunch from and much to see. You are free to roam about and explore as you want. The tour also included a short cruise through the bay. I personally enjoyed a glass of wine and snacks while listening to the commentary from the guide. After leaving Port Arthur, we made a stop at the Federation Chocolate Factory where we tried unique flavors of chocolates. Last stop on the trip was Richmond where we were able to walk around and explore the various shops on our own.

Day 2 - The weather on the day of the tour was again not ideal, still lightly raining nearly the entire day. However, similar to the prior day, this did not detract from the overall experience much. The day started early picking everyone up from their hotels before making a quick stop shortly outside of Hobart for anyone needing to purchase lunch to take with them for the day. We made one additional stop along a beach before getting to the Freycinet National Park. From there, we had three options of walks, a short walk to a cafe/lunch spot, a walk to Wineglass Bay Lookout (a 45-minute uphill walk), or the option to extend your walk to the actual sands of Wineglass Bay (approximately 2.5 hours). Normally, I would have chosen the longer walk, but given the weather was rainy, and the guide advised there were a couple of sections of the walk to be careful on, our group of four opted for the walk to the lookout. Two of the members of the group stopped halfway to the lookout before turning to head towards the van as it was an uphill climb and a bit too much for them. After taking in the views overlooking Wineglass Bay, we headed to Honeymoon Bay and did the Cape Tourville Lighthouse Walk. The description says you stop at the Freycinet Marine Farm for oysters, but we did not, so maybe that is a seasonal thing. We did make a stop for coffee/snacks/ice cream, though before heading to Launceston.

Day 3 - Again, the day started early picking everyone up from their hotels and heading to the first stop, a place offering coffee and all sort of breakfast/lunch options for eat-in or takeaway. After purchasing our breakfast/lunch for the day, we headed towards Cradle Mountain. The first walk was a short but peaceful walk inside the national park. We then hopped back into the van to drive deeper into the national park and closer to Cradle Mountain. We parked by Dove Lake where the guide explained the various options for trails before we all parted ways. A girl I had met on the bus and myself opted for the hike up to Marion's Lookout together. It was a difficult upward climb, especially since we were moving at a fairly quick pace. It took us approximately an hour to reach the top, but once we got up there the views were spectacular. Because we had made such good time, we were able to relax and have lunch without being rushed. Once finished, we headed down towards Dove Lake. The climb down was steeper than expected, but they have a chain rope most of the way you can hold onto. I was grateful for this when my foot slipped a couple of times on the loose stone. We were good on time so we were also able to do the walk around Dove Lake (counter-clockwise from the parking lot). There were a couple of spots with an uphill climb, but this was much easier than the hike up to Marion's lookout. Once we all met back at the van, we drove to another area of the park for a brief chance to roam around and try to spot wombats. Last stop on the tour was to the Ashgrove Cheese Factory to sample cheeses and purchase goodies or ice cream.

Overall, the days were long and tiring. By the end of my trip, I was exhausted. However, I would do it all again. I was able to see and do so much, and the guides were friendly, knowledgeable and experienced, making every day more enjoyable and run smoothly.

This tour did everything we wanted, and more! It was very well organised and excellent value for money. We loved every minute of it. The early departures and long days were well worth it and meant you could see and do so much. Port Arthur was probably the day one highlight (you could easily spend a whole day there!), although the visit to 'Unzoo' was a special experience, where most of the wildlife there simply roam around in a natural environment. The scenic clifftop walks and various viewpoint stops were amazing. And Richmond and the Hobart City Lookout rounded the day off in style. Freycinet National Park and the views of Wineglass Bay were stunning - well worth the 45 minute climb up to and sown from the lookout. Honeymoon Bay provided an ideal contrast for a lunch break - an opportunity to relax in a beautiful, scenic environment surrounded by a calm, turquoise sea. The final day, Cradle Mountain, was probably one of the highlights our entire trip around Australia. Every bit of the day was just wonderful, from the short walks to the hike around Dove Lake, the scenery and the wildlife in their natural environment. The guides were excellent. Dan, (day one), was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and humorous. Rod (day three), shared his enthusiasm and detailed knowledge about every aspect of Cradle Mountain, the environment and its wildlife. The air-conditioned buses were comfortable and the baggage trailer towed on day two meant there was non restrictions on luggage, perfect for us as we on a six week trip around Australia. This trip ticks all the boxes, especially if you are limited for time. Highly recommended.
