The Berlengas archipelago is a group of small islands located 5.7 miles off the coast of Peniche and comprises Berlenga, Estelas, and Farilhões islands. Berlenga is the only inhabited island. In 2011 UNESCO classified the Berlengas as a “World Biosphere Reserve”, which is indicative of the rich fauna and flora that can be found on the islands.
Very often dolphins come to pay us a visit and swim by boat!

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone because 5 hours on this island was too much. 2 would have been great. The restaurant was mostly without service, and at lunch had NO FOOD. They also did not let us use their toilets! The public WCs outside were disgusting and without toilet paper or soap. So, overall, tour company, make it shorter, don't misrepresent this as a glass-bottomed boat because that makes people resaonably assume they can sit somewhere in a glass-bottomed space and LOOK outside (not the case here), and please don't call it a guided tour because nothing was guided. Now, if you want to walk over the island for 5 hours on your own, that's a different story.

Disappointing Experience on Boat Trip - Avoid
I booked a boat tour for myself, my two children under 7 and three adults over 65. However, the experience was extremely disappointing and frustrating from the start.
Upon arrival at the boarding dock, we were greeted by an uncompromising crew. Despite arriving slightly late by only 4 minutes, we were refused boarding for the morning excursion. After prolonged discussions with the staff on site and even by phone with the captain, an option was proposed: reschedule the excursion for the afternoon at 2:00 p.m., where apparently there was still room.
As per this arrangement, we returned at 1:30 p.m. hoping to enjoy the promised excursion. However, our expectations were sorely disappointed. Despite clearly having seats available, the crew informed us that they had sold out of tickets and could no longer accommodate us.
Even after being encouraged to speak directly with the captain by a crew member, our hopes were dashed. The captain categorically refused to let us board, displaying an unpleasant and uncompromising attitude.
What is particularly disconcerting is that we clearly saw that there were still empty seats on board. The rude and dishonest behavior of the crew and captain demonstrates a complete disregard for customers and their experience.
To top it all off, the refusal to reimburse us shows disconcerting greed. They preferred to keep the sales window open rather than showing courtesy and professionalism to unhappy customers.
Ultimately, this experience not only ruined our day, but also highlighted the lack of respect for customers and lack of consideration for their satisfaction. This experience was an absolute fiasco from start to finish.
I strongly advise against this company. Avoid it if you are looking for professional, courteous and respectful service towards customers.

Excellent trip, company with safe catamaran, friendly crew. They were super attentive when I requested a taxi to get me from the marina to the Peniche bus station. I recommend this tour. Very beautiful place.

I paid €40+ for the tour via Tripadviser. When I got to the office for the boat I found the return trip was €15. So, make sure you book the trip at the pier. Also, there are 2 main companies that do the trip. The Berlenas one is the one that does the cave our when you get to the island.

Really good booking and information experience the girl in the office in Peniche was so helpful. The day we travelled it was rough enough at sea but the staff were great. If you haven’t travelled on a catamaran before it might be nerve wracking. We travelled as two families, some loved the crossing some hated it! But the island is so worth the visit . Awesome! The return journey was much easier. This company is so good to travel with it seems to be a far faster journey over and back with them. The cave tour is incredible on the glass bottomed boat. The Staff are fabulous so attentive, informative, witty, multi-lingual and comfortable at sea! Their coolness really helps if you’re a nervy sea farer!
