Embark on a guided tour of Berchtesgaden Mountains, Hitler's mountain retreat and the southern headquarters of the Nazi party on a full day coach trip from Munich. Eagle's Nest is a mountain top lodge built by the Nazis, and is a fascinating sight of historical significance. Located at 6,148 feet (1,834 meters) on top of Mt Kehlstein, the lodge has some of Germany's most amazing views of the Alps mountain range. Ironically, Hitler suffered from vertigo and rarely took pleasure in the views.

The guide Ursula (and the driver, Fifi, I think) made this trip one to remeber, and we had the best weather. I can recoment this tour to anyone (at least if Ursula is guiding).

What a breathe taking spot! It was a total shame we could not go to The Eagles Nest due to snow! Our tour was the first week of May, if snow were even a possibility then tour should never have been offered! It should only be in the summer months or later in May. However, Obersalzburg was great! The new documentation center was amazing! All the tunnels were incredible to walk through and the food was very good at the restaurant. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and informative.

It is a very long day. Turned out to be 5 hours on the bus round trip. Guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Eagles nest itself was a little underwhelming. The museum was good to get the history.

Lunch at the Eagles Nest was the best. The weather really worked in our favor. The documents center was very impressive. The bunkers were sobering. Bus trip was excellent

We were informed that we would be going to the salt mine instead of the Eagles’ Nest since the road was not open. We said — okay, at least the drive will be a good view. But when we got on the bus—Ursula said she was taking us to the Bergdorf and the document center. We lucked out. It was so much better. A fantastic experience and a guide who knew so much relevant and insightful information. The Eagle’s Nest was an after thought to Hitler’s house where the real history took place. If you can — I would recommend this over the little used but better known Eagle’s Nest which was just a tea house and visited only a few times by Hitler. None of the important events took place there.

The drive to Obersalzburg is beautiful. The bus is comfortable and clean. Lottie our guide was very organised and provided in depth information on the region and historical events. Although Eagles Nest was closed the tour was still good value as the documentation centre, underground bunker system and berghof visits were incredible and well worth the effort as was our lovely stop in Berchtesgaden a beautiful alpine town.

The trip was a bucket list item me, the weather was favourable and the views were amazing. Sadly because of the end of the season some of the shops were closed. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining but it was a long day.

Booked this tour for ourselves and our teenager (16yo) for a bit of history. Bit of an early start from the city centre followed by a couple of hours' drive into the German Alps. Very good English speaking guide.

Entrance to Eagles Nest is not included - payment is card only. This is clear in the conditions but worth mentioning. The ticket also gives entrance to the museum.

Eagles Nest is ...weirdly touristy for a place with a dark history. They do a decent Apfelkuchen. The views are stunning of the weather is clear.

The museum (Dokumentationzentrum) is very thoughtfully done and worth the visit.

There is a traditional beerhall type restaurant in the same complex, which does a top Schnitzel and a couple of souvenir shops (which seemed a bit tacky given the history, but such is tourism).

This is worth the trip for the views and for history buffs.
