Belleville is the most famous Street Art neighbourhood of Paris.
It has been an artists’ destination since the early ’80s. They where living in numerous squats that over the years turned into art galleries, art-studios and art communities. It is a favourite place for many French artists, like Nemo, Jérôme Mesnager or Philippe Herard. And associations, like Art Azoi or Le M.U.R., often bring international artists to the scene.
Artists community makes this area the most vibrant and constantly changing, inviting the locals to participate in many local activities, including art-making, poetry or gardening.
During the tour, an artist, who has more than six years of experience in the topic, would share with you an intimate history of how the neighbourhood and its street art came to be as they are today. You would not only learn about the history of street art in Paris but hopefully you will start to recognise some of the most active street artists.
Combined group can have up to 15 guests.

The “guide” “artist” was very strange. He was more concerned with promoting himself and defacing other artists work along the way. Little to no explanation of any of the artists or work we moved along rapidly to and up nowhere with nothing to show for it. Waste of money. And this was not a cheap tour.

Viewing street art under the guidance of a real artist is priceless! Our guide-artist Mr. Byste would have revealed us various artists and explained to us various techniques of artistic creation.He also showed us how an artist works and wich tools he uses.Fantastic and strongly racomended.Thank you for the gift :)Jakob

This area is rich with street art from the early generation of artists to present day. So much to see! Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly, and authentically connected to the street art community. I have a new appreciation for this form.

Had a wonderful afternoon exploring an area of Paris we would never have discovered on our own. Thom Thom, our artist guide, introduced us to the Belleville world of graffiti art. His knowledge of the subject and area, as well as the history and design of Paris, offered us a rich understanding of the Parisian culture and street art scene. Very highly recommend!!

Incredible knowledge about the street art. Learned so much and saw some really interesting things.
Took a school group and it worked really well. It was great for the students to see some different parts of Paris.

We have been on street tours several times in Miami and London. Our tour with Marie was more informative and engaging than those tours. Belleview is an intriguing community and we particularly enjoyed Marie’s explanation of the role of taggers , graffiti artists and street artists. Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour around Belleville and surrounding area with Thom, learning about the street art movement and its relationship to punk and hip hop. Thom is extremely knowledgable, answering our many questions and giving us tips on traveling through the city for our remaining time in Paris. The art was fascinating, but perhaps the most special aspect of the tour was seeing a side of everyday Paris that too few tourists get to see. Book this tour and you will thank yourself for stepping away from the typical tourist attractions to see the work of modern street artists.
