Why should you take a pottery class?
1. Lessons will be taught 100% on an electric pottery wheel, so that it is easier, faster, and less tiring to learn. (Each person will be assigned their own wheel)
2. Located in the heart of Ha Noi’s Old Quarter, you can learn pottery, try Vietnamese coffee and food, and visit Ho Guom Lake. No need to go all the way to the Bat Trang village that is located 15km out of Ha Noi.
3. A professional potter will guide you along the way, ensuring that your ceramic pieces will come out beautiful.
4. There is no limit on how many pieces and designs you can make.
5. You can take a piece of your choice home as a souvenir, with your choice of enamel color.
6. Pick up and take the products you’ve made home in 1day later.
7. The pottery class supports an AC fan and bathroom for pottery students
8. Make an appointment at least 30 minutes beforehand and you are on your way to becoming a pro at pottery!

Amazing experience! Our teacher was so kind and nice. Showed us techniques and allowed us to create so many pieces of pottery. Great class well worth the money. Unfortunately our time in Hanoi was limited and it’s about 2 full days turn around time so we were not able to keep the pieces but given a credit to bring another item home. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Signed up for the morning class. It was conducted by a lady, she is EXTREMELY patient and fun to work with. It was my 1st time trying such workshop. I was struggling, yet the lady instructor was so so so calm and patient with me (thank you so much 😭)

The class went on for 2.5 - 3 hours, managed to make 5 pieces. Brought home 2 as a keepsake.

Is a good experience, the teacher & assistant teacher both are v helpful & patience. For 1 1/2 hrs, u can do as many as you like. The only thing is to pay extra $ to bring home of your creation. 🤣.

We were in a group of for which left plenty of time for the instructor to attend to each of us. He was very patient and helpful and we all ended up with a few nice pieces, covered in clay to show we had indeed achieved some presentable pots. They glazed them for us and the result was impressive, we are well pleazed with what we got. This was ondeed a very pleasant afternoon spent learning a new skill and we would recommend you try it too.

My husband and I had a great morning taking a wheel-throwing class. The instructor was patient and there were three other people, so 5 in the experience total. The instructor centered the clay for the participants on the wheel and then guided them along the process of creating a piece; opening the clay, pulling the clay up, and shaping the clay. We threw a few pieces until we were ready to stop and choose one to be fired and glazed. For a small extra cost, you can take home more than one of your pieces.

A few days later we were able to pick up our final pieces! I am impressed by how quickly they were glazed and fired. Tony, who works at the shop, is friendly and knowledgable and I loved learning a little about the village of Bat Trang and that my husband and I were able to return home with actual finished ceramic pieces from our pottery class experience. Highly recommended if you want to get clay on your hands or try wheel throwing. Beautiful glaze selection, too!

I am also glad I had the insight to do this early on our Hanoi adventure, as the pieces we made still took a few days to finish on Authentic Bat Trang's end with the firing and glazing. Thank you for a unique experience!

We loved our pottery experience. We both have very little pottery experience and this class was super fun. Once shown a demonstration we were given free will of the wheel and just gave it a go, if we ever needed help or more explanation the guide was willing to help. We were very happy with our pieces at the end, we ended up paying for a couple of extra pots to take home from our class. We made sure to do this at the start of our trip in Hanoi to allow plenty of time for firing.

Very well taught by a patient, kind expert who has been making pottery since he was a child. Small group; gave lots of help when needed.

It was a fun experience, I made 4 pieces 3 of which were not too bad considering it was my first attempt at pottery but I was best pleased with the cup I made, complete with handle and decoration
