1. Wat Mahathat
Wat Mahathat, “the temple of the Great Relic” was one of the most important temples in the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Located on the historical island the large monastery features a huge central prang, a very large principal viharn and ubosot and a great number of subsidiary chedis and viharns. The upper part of its once massive central prang has collapsed. Today only the base remains.
2. Wat Phra Sri Sanphet
Wat Phra Si Sanphet, also known as the "Temple of the Holy, Splendid Omniscient" was the holiest temple in Ayutthaya during the Ayutthaya period and until the city was destroyed by the Burmese in 1767. It was the grandest and most beautiful temple in the capital and it served as a model for Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.
3. Vihara Phra Mongkhon Bophit
Housing a large bronze seated Buddha image of 12.45 meters high (Phra Mongkhon Bophit), it was originally enshrined outside the Grand Palace to the east. It could be dated to the 15th and has a long history prior to being enshrined and to being covered nowadays with a Mondop. 4. Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Lokayasutharam)
Wat Lokayasutharam is situated at Pratoochai District, behind the Ancient Palace and the Pratoochai Primary School, in the area 0f Wat Worapoh (Wat Rakhang) and Wat Worachettharam. Wat Lokayasutharam is 800 meters from Wat Phra Mongkon Bophit. Wat Worachettharam and Wat Worapoh are also closeby. Nevertheless, we had quite some difficulty finding Wat Lokayasutharam, likely our otherwise good Ayutthaya map, was a bit off the mark.

For the price paid, this trip was a decent value. The bus was comfortable and not too crowded, the guide fine and the boat ride interesting. The historical sites are worthwhile though I would have preferred to see a few more rather than spending so much time at just two (plus a quick photo stop at a third). On the negative side, departure and arrival times should have been clearer in the booking info, we began the trip 20 minutes late with no explanation and the boat was fairly rundown. Overall though it was a good break from the melee of Bangkok.

A great day out exploring the main temples of Ayutthaya. Guide was excellent- great knowledge of the region and English was perfect. The lunch and boat trip back also a highlight. A long day but worth it to see more of the region and Bangkok.

Hotel pick up 6 45 ,30 minute transfer to bus ,sit on stationary bus for 45 mins,2 .5 hour bus journey to Temples .3 temples and 3 bus journeys in 2 hours.Them 1 hour bus journey to the boat Arriving at 1 pm . 2.5 boat trip.For me and my wife it was a ordeal ..too much of a bus and transfer day.The boat meal was fine but I didn’t appreciate the hiked up drink prices nearly £5 for a beer or water.

We had a knowledgeable guide with a good sense of humour, very friendly and helpful. We visited every temple as per itinerary, made many memorable photos. The lunch was great. The bus and the boat were modern, comfortable, clean. We will recommend it to our friends

Really enjoyable day. Huge shout out to First for being so informative and candid in his presentation. His pride in his hometown really comes through and he does a great job engaging the group in the experience. As a huge fan of history, Ayutthaya was a must-see on my trip to Thailand and the day did not disappoint. The river cruise back to Bangkok was fun and the food offered was excellent. Overall a super great outing. Highly recommend!

Pick up at the hotel perfect. Dona welcomes us as soon as we arrived the meeting point. All was explained perfectly. We enjoyed the visits of the morning even if we spent a lot of time in the bus driving from one point to the other. Boarding for the cruise was easy and well organized. The buffet on the boat was very rich and tasty. The drinks are not included in the package. The trip to Bangkok until the arrival was very peaceful. At arrival, ontime, the driver was waiting for us to drive us back to the hotel. During all day, we had, thanks to Dona, a lesson about Thai culture and way of life. Thank you very much.
