In this tour, the walk difficulty level is Easy/Medium! You`ll walk only 5km and downstream!
Short description: Go across one of the longest suspension bridges of the world and walk the Paiva Walkways trail! Visit one of the highlights of Portugal: Costa Nova, and Aveiro, the Portuguese Venice!
We leave from Porto towards Arouca town where we`ll stop shortly.
After a short drive, we`ll arrive at the Walkways and go across the Suspension Bridge! It spans 516 meters-long across the valley and hangs 175m above the Paiva river!
Then, you`ll walk the Paiva Walkways downhill in a total length of 5km over a wooden boardwalk zig-zagging along the Paiva river.
The walk will be followed by another highlight of our day: lunch! (fish and vegetarian options also available)
After a power nap in the van, we`ll visit Costa Nova and the colorful houses!
Time to enjoy Aveiro! Short walk in the city center, enjoy some free time and relax on a boat trip to see the charming city through the canals!

Although the weather isn’t that good yesterday but the tour was great.
Bridges are amazing, walkways at the Arouca geopark are superb and the traditional lunch was so tasty too.
The tour guide Joao is very helpful, thoughtful and knowledgeable that have learnt a lot on Portuguese history and customs.

We had a great time exploring Arouca and Aviero. The suspension bridge and Paiva walkway was stunning. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and taught us a lot of the Portuguese history along the way. Highly recommend!

Good even if you are alone. It was beautiful, peaceful and you also burn some calories. It was bit chilly then Porto so be prepared.

The suspension bridge and the Zpaiva walkways were excellent . Our driver and the meal was excellent. But the boat tour and Aveiro were disappointing.

Luis was an excellent guide. We had a wonderful day on the suspension bridge with spectacular views. The hike along the river was very peaceful. The lunch was very tasty and we all enjoyed the green table wine. The Aveiro boat ride was disappointing.

A must do activity if you’re in the area and are active. The hike from the suspended bridge is about 7 kms and all downhill. It took me about 1:30 hr. The river was raging next to me the whole time. The environment is beautiful and wild. The path is mostly wooden steps and boardwalk. Some areas were on rock and dirt, but not too difficult to walk on.
There is a taxi service at the end of the hike to take you back to the beginning, where you most likely parked your car. There are also some information panels with description of the fauna and flora. Also emergency stations to call for help. Staff was available at the half way out to take you back, earlier.

It was the best trip in northern Portugal. With a small group, a perfect guide Luis speaking English and Spanish. Amazing views, we saw a lot and enjoeyd a beautiful day, a delicious lunch.
