1. Auckland Central
Your tour starts in New Zealand’s largest city. As we drive out of the city your guide will not only set the scene for your adventure today but also point out and guide you past some of the city’s top highlights.
2. Waikato Region
Exiting Auckland we travel south through the stunning Waikato countryside, the most extensive farming area in the world, encountering beautiful scenery, mighty rivers, great photo opportunities, impressive mountains and a variety of farm animals along the way.
3. Hobbiton Movie Set
– Arriving at the first feature attraction ‘Hobbiton’ you will board one of the big green Hobbiton buses and depart on a two & a half hour fully guided tour of this amazing 12 acre movie set, with a professional Hobbiton guide to ensure you get the most out of your visit. During your tour step into the lush pastures of the Shire, visit 44 hobbit holes, see amazing gardens, hear the secrets and stories about the making of the movies and enjoy a cold complimentary beverage at the famous Hobbiton pub ‘The Green Dragon Inn’.
4. Tirau
Departing for Rotorua we pass through Tirau on our adventure. Dubbed the 'Corrugated Iron Capital of the World' because of the many unique corrugated iron sculptures and buildings, this town never fails to get a look and a laugh and our guides will point out all the main highlights on the way through.
5. Lake Rotorua
Once in Rotorua your guide will drop you at your accommodation in Rotorua (central hotels only) or at a main Rotorua central location. drop you to a central location. Or you are welcome to continue with us to another Rotorua attraction (at extra cost).

Was a super fun tour! Beautiful and stunning movie set and geothermal. Tour guides were super knowledgeable and very fun. Would highly recommend!

Driver was quiet with no direction/communication. Our group eventually figured out where to go and how to obtain our own pre-booked tickets. The overall tour at Hobbiton was nice, well laid out with plenty of time and guided information.

Our driver and guide was really funny and knowledgeable. Initially we were looking to rent a car and i’m glad we changed our minds. Renting a car is so expensive!! The bus picked us from Auckland at the exact hour/minute they said they’d be there. We stopped for coffee on our way to Hobbiton and at Hobbiton our driver got us the tickets and we had the best time. Just get this tour if you want to get to Rotorua and also enjoy Hobbiton on your way. Great value for its money.

Grant was an amazing guide through the roads of New Zealand. He gave a great history review on NZ. He was punctual and went above what he had to when he heard I had to make it back to my cruise ship dropping me off at the port even though it wasn’t a listed drop off place, cannot recommend this company enough!

If you are a Lord of rings fan or Hobbit trilogy you will be amazed! The detail is wonderful, the guide gave an excellent commentary about particular scenes in movies and where they were taken!

It was excellent. Covered every thing in my itinerary and extras. I have to thank Cam, our guide, lovely person. Catered to everyone's needs and was helpful and was there , whenever needed, for any queries. Will book again, next time I'm in NZ.

This small group tour was perfect way to get from Auckland to Rotorua with great experiences on the way. Hobbiton was awesome, Te Pui was inspiring and educational- the geyser was incredible. Our tour guide Grant was amazing, funny and informative.

I was planning to go from Auckland to Rotorua, so instead of taking a plain Intercity bus, I took this tour to add a stop at Hobbiton and Te Puia to kill 2 birds with 1 stone (well, 3 birds, in fact). On the way, our guide Simon gave various explanations about the area, and also a bit about the LOTR filming. The group was indeed small so it was pretty cool. The visits to Hobbiton and Te Puia were nice (Hobbiton was great!) and Simon arranged everything for us. I hadn't planned to do Te Puia at first, but I added it last minute and Simon made the arrangements super quickly, thanks a lot!
Also, at the end of the tour, he dropped me off at my accommodation place, which was super nice!
