Wonderful tour of the city center!!! Highly recommend as a couple!!
Went and toured around Monastiraki and Psyri and tasted wonderful local delicacies, tapas and seafood paired with ouzo, wines and tsipouro.
Ilias was a wonderful host; we felt like we were hanging out with a popular local with many connections to all the places we visited. We also learned a lot- like how Greek coffee is made, what actual Greeks eat from breakfast to dinner/dessert, what pairs well with the food and lots of cultural norms.
Well worth it!!!!

Our guide provided various foods from various locations. She gave limited narration while walking and when eating. We ended up just talking with the other participants and not learning anything about Athens or Greek cuisine.

The tour was around the streets of Monastaki Square quaint places you would normally miss out on. We were a group of 4 and were joined by a lovely American couple.
We started the tour with a traditional Greek coffee, followed by a traditional baked ring with sesame seeds, we then went on to try spinach pie. Then, off to a quirky little traditional place, we we ate seabass, stuffed squid, MUsselsin tomato sauce,whitebait & Anchovies. Then off to try a lovely dessert and ice cream. Throughout, we tried local wine ouzo trapio
Ilias was a fantastic host, very knowledgeable with the history , great personality, and good company.

Our guide was Eugenia! She was incredible! Every morsel of food we had was mind blowingly delicious ! Every place we went we were treated like royalty by the staff.Each course was perfection. A experience we will never forget! Thank you Eugenia and trip advisor food tours

We had an amazing tour guided by Ilias. The food and drinks were exceptional along with the history we picked up along the way. The best part was how welcomed Ilias made us feel on the tour and in the city of Athens.

Illias was a great tour leader. He took us to great local venues that we would otherwise not have found. He explained about the culture and the story behind the food. He talked about pairings of alcohol and food and (as it was the Greek Easter weekend) told us about religious traditions about food. Highly recommend

My wife and I went through Barcelona, Mykonos, Izmir, Istanbul and Athens for our 10 year anniversary a saw so many cool sites and did several food tours. This tour was absolutely the highlight of my trip. Ilias is super friendly, knowledgeable and took pride in sharing his city, culture and food. The Greek spinach pie “spanakopita” (sounds like it wouldn’t be good from the description, but you have to try it) was something I’ll have dreams about for years.
I felt like Ilias was a long lost cousin by the end of the night as if I was part of his family.
A cool moment- a little gypsy kid who lives in the streets ran up to him. Ilias pinched his cheek and encouraged him to aim high. He knew him by name and excused himself to grab the kid some food. It shows his character and “filotimo”. If Ilias ever comes to Texas he’s got a place to stay and a good Texas BBQ food tour ahead of him!
