1. Temple of Olympian Zeus
Located between the Acropolis and the Ilissos river, the colossal Olympeion was one of the greatest ancient temples of Zeus and one of the most famous marble buildings in the ancient World. We will talk about the Temple and its stories from the outside.
2. Acropolis
The greatest and finest sanctuary of ancient Athens, dedicated primarily to its patron, the goddess Athena, has been dominating the centre of the city for millenia. The monuments of the Acropolis (the Parthenon, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechteion, the Propylae, the Theater of Dionysus,...), all unique masterpieces of ancient architecture, have influenced art and culture for many centuries and stand in harmony with their natural setting.
3. Theater of Dionysus
Dionysus was the god of wine and grape harvest. The theatre of Dionysus was the oldest to be founded in Athens; it was in this theatre that the unsurpassed works by Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides and Aristophanes were performed for the first time.
4. Temple of Athena Nike
The Temple of Athena Nike was dedicated to the goddesses Athena and Nike. Nike was the goddess of victory in Greek mythology, and Athena was worshipped in this form, representative of being victorious in war. It is said that the cult statue of the goddess at the temple had no wings so that she would never leave Athens.
5. Erechtheion
The Erechtheion is an ancient Greek temple constructed on the Acropolis of Athens in order to house the ancient wooden cult statue of Athena and generally glorify the great city at the height of its power and influence.
6. Parthenon
The Parthenon is temple that dominates the hill of the Acropolis at Athens. It was built in the mid-5th century BCE and dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena Parthenos (“Athena the Virgin”). The temple is generally considered to be the culmination of the development of the Doric order, the simplest of the three Classical Greek architectural orders.
7. Ancient Agora of Athens
The Agora was the heart of ancient Athens, the focus of political, commercial, administrative and social activity, the religious and cultural centre, and the seat of justice.
8. Temple of Hephaestus
The magnificent temple of Hephaestus, one of the best preserved ancient temples in the world, was the place of worship for two important deities for many merchants and shop owners of the Ancient Agora: god Hephaestus, protector of all metallurgists, and goddess Athena Ergani, protecting all potters and the cottage industries.

We really enjoyed this tour with Christina. The mythological stories were fascinating to us. It was worth the value and we would highly recommend. The group size was about 12ish?
Make sure you review the meeting point as the morning of the tour, google maps took use completely in the wrong direction.
Also be warned, there is a fair bit of walking (up gradual hill, cobblestones to the Acropolis) and you will encounter hundreds of people. We went in late April and there were a LOT of tour groups (off the cruise ships).

It was great very informative and tour guide knew a lot of the history and gods. Can’t believe after sooo many centuries that see could actually see all these Artifacts. Definitely a must see.

Angelika did a wonderful job running our tour. She taught us both the Mythological stories, as well as more modern history about the Acropolis and Greek Agora. Great pace, perfect balance of information and stories. We loved it!

We do a lot of tours and this one was a miss for us. The positive was they arranged our entrance tickets to the archeological sites and navigated us to them.

The negative. The guides should have ear pieces as very difficult to hear the guide with all the noise. Second the story telling wasn’t presented in a way that kept your interest. I although it sounds cool, the guides we heard around us that were telling more the history were much more interesting. I would skip this tour and either go for a history tour or go on your own and pre buy the tickets as the entrance lines were long.

This tour was awesome! Vicky was our tour guide and I swear she knew EVERYTHING about Ancient Greece, because she could answer all our questions, no matter how obscure. The Acropolis was incredible and we learned so much! It was a very cool take on history, so learn about the myths behind the history as well as what actually happened!

Penelope was delightful. It is magical to see the acropolis and Parthenon in real life! However, it is A LOT of walking up steep hills and steps and is definitely NOT for anyone with mobility challenges. Wear comfortable walking shoes, bring water and be ready to stand. Penelope is so knowledgeable and sweet and did a great job. Perfect
Tour for able bodied people prepared for rigorous climbs up and down steep hill. Once in a lifetime thrill for me!
However, BEWARE ATHENS CAB DRIVERS! They will try to rip you off. Agree on fare before you get into cab and have a witness with you. Mine claimed I only gave him 10 Euros when I had given him a 50! I unleashed the wrath of all the Gods on him and he was sorry he messed with this Latina, but just beware, they will take advantage of you if you do not pay attention. But still, LOVED the tour!
