The excursion to the Acropolis and Agora was excellent. The group was small (10), very well organized, timely and our guide was full of very interesting mythical and historical information. His correlation of myth to the culture and history was fascinating. He maneuvered us expertly through the crowds, gave us time for photos, and found us shaded spots to share his information with us.
I highly recommend this tour.

Spend the extra money and pay for a tour guide to fully understand what you’re looking at! So many backstories to hear! Pay to understand the “why”.

The good- You have to experience this with a tour guide. The views are unbelievable. We had Vicky who shared so much knowledge and was willing to answer any and all questions we had. I’d say we were lucky to have a tour guide like her. I’d recommend getting out there as early as possible to try and avoid crowds/lines. We took the 9am tour and by the time we walked out, it was packed! Super long lines that did not look fun.

The bad- I wouldn’t say anything was “bad”. You know what you’re signing up for once you take a look at the locations you’ll be visiting. Prepare to walk, inclines, steps, uneven paths, and slippery paths from the marble.

The OK- Luckily when we went it was somewhat overcast. A regret we had was not packing a small snack (like a protein bar or something quick), water, sunscreen. Bring your sunglasses and a hat! Prepare for a long day of walking and listening to knowledgeable information!

It will be an interesting and fun day! So glad we did it. Would recommend to a friend.

What a clusterf*ck! Avoid this disorganized tour operator… check out the other 1 &2 star reviews and you’ll see I wasn’t alone in a similar crappy logistics experience.

Been trying to contact the tour operator via the Viator app messaging system to no avail to get tix in advance. Tried calling their number. No one picks up… Received no night before confirmation or directions where to buy tix and what time slot to buy for…. Also which tix options to buy… omg, could u be any more murky about what I need to do as an overseas visitor who’s never been to Athens before. Can u direct me to an online purchase link? Or just offer the option to buy them for me?

Arrived at meeting point at 835am and no one knew what was up or had received my request for pre-purchasing tickets. So the guide tells me to go towards the Acropolis to buy tix and says “it’s easy…”. No map location or address.

I’ve been to 50+ countries and taken lots of tours before. Also worked in software for 20 years, so I’m not a total moron when it comes to planning trips and navigating new places. But this operator hands down sucked. And tries to put the onus on the newbies to Athens to buy tickets without clear instructions or communication or confirmation. There are tons of OTHER tour operators who I’m sure will provide a much better service level and will simply offer an option to purchase tix in advance.

On an overcast mild morning in May we joined a group of enthusiastic adventurers at The Arch of Hadrian. After sorting out tickets which we had pre-purchased, we joined the red group and were introduced to Magda our Greek guide for the day. Her English was excellent and she had an immediately warm style. She went to great lengths to learn everybody’s name and to introduce them to the other members of the group which numbered about 10 in total from all over the world. Once the formalities were over, Magda began with an introduction to the world of Ancient Greece and the Temple of Zeus we were standing at. We then entered the acropolis at the south and less crowded entrance and began the climb with numerous stops along the way up to learn more and take plenty of photos. Once at the top, Magda gave an excellent explanation and patiently answered all questions, all in a most engaging way. We then had free time to explore for ourselves.

We then reconvened at the other, far more crowded, gate at made our way to the Agora. Once again, Magda’s knowledge was excellent as was her engaging and often amusing style. Once finished, we had free time to wander through the vast complex including the amazingly preserved Temple of Haphaestus. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our tour and can’t thank Magda enough.

Michael, our guide, was funny, informative and friendly. He knew a lot of information and loads of stories about the gods as well as a host of other information about the sites we visited. It wasn’t rushed and as the group was kept small there was time for questions and the whole tour went at a nice, relaxed pace. Definately recommend this tour and especially Michael as your tour guide, brilliant morning at a good price. Enough said, thank you ☺️

This was a very interesting tour. The hike up and down the acropolis is a bit challenging, as well as to the Agora, but it is well worth the effort. The guide was VERY good, interesting and nice. She had a wealth of information. The children and adults loved it. We were a small group - about 12 people - which also made the tour very good.

Had a wonderful time in Athens,
Got to explore a lot of the city and seen a lot of the ancient ruins. During my stay, it was Easter weekend, so many of the tours and major attractions were closed, so I couldn't give a proper review on that.but getting around, the food & hospitality were good. The best way to see a lot of things around town is a Hop On & Off bus, which runs most of the day and takes you to most if not all the major attractions around town. You can get a lot of great upfront photos of the ruins and landmarks of the city.
