When they say full day it’s legit a full day! Loved every minute of it!
We got very tired by the end of the day! U have option to skip a hike if ur too tired, which a couple in our group did! Just beware it is a bit of a hike for this tour! But so grateful that we go to do this tour!
We had the best guide Diego! Definitely recommend!

One of the best guided tours ever experienced. Diego was an amazing guide with spirit opening stories while we took some rest in between the hike. He was helpful when I needed support to go to the waterfall and made sure everyone was having a good time. The waterfall was just refreshing and breathtaking as well as the volcano!. Amazing food stop before our volcano hike. It was a challenging day but oh so worth it plus I had a fun group to be with being a solo traveller. The hot springs was cherry on top to our day! The only negative thing from the day was that the vans need to be fixed. Steam heat between places to go in a tight space with 10 people..horribly unpleasant.

I greatly appreciate that we had two guides-one for slower pace and one faster. This gave us ample time at the waterfall. We were free to do whatever for at least two hours. The short, but sweet, meeting of the indigenous tribe was great too. Lunch was quick and easy. This gave us ample time hiking around the volcano. Our guide was priceless- so many interesting facts. He spotted all kinds of critters. Hot springs, with rum, was the perfect ending. Perfect day at a great price!!!

It was a pretty great day! Very good customer service! The staff was helpful and very knowledgeable! The waterfall was definetly a highlight!

Absolutely amazing experience!! Everything about this adventure was top notch from hiking through the rainforest, seeing wildlife, hiking to the volcano, the lunch, hiking to the Waterfall and swimming through the waterfall and to end it all with a drink and the hot springs! Absolutely AMAZING!! Our tour guides were so knowledgeable and so fun. They made every experience so fun and cool! You can't go wrong with this experience.

This is a must do trip. The tour says 10-12 people. The tour was packed but they split the group up into Spanish speaking and English speaking. Erick from Red Lava Tours was the English speaking guide. His English was amazing as well as his knowledge during the tour. I wish every tour I’ve been on had guides like Erick. His field of study was in line for these tires. His understanding and passion of plants, animals, and the lands was incredible. We started off with an awesome hike to La Fortuna waterfall. This was quite vigorous. We averaged over 70 flights of stairs. The waterfall was incredible. Erick taught us about plants, fungi, and critters as we hiked. After that we visited an indigenous village. Really it was two young ladies showing their handcrafted trinkets to sell. This could be taken out of the tour. It had no bearing for the tour and was more of a sales pitch. Nothing against their people, but it’s not done properly to teach about their culture. After that we had lunch, which was really good. We then headed to the volcano overlooking Arenal Lake. The hike was very easy as Erick took his time talking about the volcano and showing us points of interest regarding the volcano. He was great. After that we went back to the visitor center of the volcano and had cookies and coffee. We then proceeded to the hot springs. It was very nice but by 9-10 hours of being on a tour we were exhausted. You get your money’s worth on this tour. The best part of this tour was Erick. His love and passion for his job resonates in the quality of his guidance. I would only book through him in the future. Red Lava Tours. Erick was amazing!!

I almost got un soloed on my solo🤣 Jokes apart, it was a great tour. Marcos was funny and tailored the trip to the needs of the group. Its worth the price!

This tour was great value for money. We hit a lot of popular tourist attractions in La Fortuna, including the Arenal Volcano hike which was a 3-part experience: volcano viewpoint hike, green lagoon walk and rainforest walk - all the way our fabulous guide Carlos took the time and effort to point out different flora and fauna species and let us look through his binoculars as well, where we saw some interesting birds and a viper snake too! We then moved on to grab lunch, which was decent and then to La Fortuna waterfalls which included a number of steps down and up. The waterfalls were great and the water was so clear, fresh and cold to swim in. We then visited a Maleku village where locals did a presentation and after the presentation we spotted some toucans. We finished the day at Relax Thermalitas hot springs. All in all, our tour guides were incredibly friendly and committed to pointing out different types of flora and fauna throughout the day and ensuring we all felt comfortable and safe. Really great day!

We would never have thought we could fit so many activities in such little time without feeling rushed, but they made it possible. Juan Carlos and Carlos (guides) were flexible with the group, allowing the participants to truly enjoy the moment while staying on schedule. They were very knowledgeable about the areas we were visiting, which allowed us to enjoy the experience even more. We highly recommend this experience!
