This was the exact same trip our ship offered for $200 more! Aquilla is a beautiful place, with a wonderful buffet and lots of drink opportunities. The animals were beautiful, as long as you understand this is a small game reserve. I'd definitely recommend this trip.

The drop-off after the visit is absolutely shocking. Please ensure that you are NOT dropped off in the parking lot of Exotic Animal World in Klapmuts. There is no public transport from there. The place closes and leaves clients in the parking without shelter, water of access to toilets. It is also very unsafe as clients can easily be seen and reached from the road as if confronted or attacked, will have nowhere to go and noone near to help. People standing around with luguage in a remote parking is an easy target for crime.

Definitely not worth the money. It’s a complete rip off. We did a morning game drive. Do not expect to see the Big 5 as we only saw 3. No refreshments on the tour which is 2 hrs long. Garden Route game lodge is a much better option and although it’s further out of Cape Town it’s half the price of Aquila and it’s much better.

We had a great time on our trip to Aquila. Saw lots of animals up close with an expert guide giving us plenty of information. Took their time so everyone on the bus could get a good view. There were lions, elephants, zebra, giraffes, rhinos and water buffalo to name a few. Picked up at hotel in Cape Town on time. Nice selection of food for a lunch time buffet which was included in the price. Free welcome drink and drinks on route of the tour. We had a great day. Thanks to all involved.

Being so close to the animals was absolutely amazing! Our tour guide Max was the absolute best! Highly highly recommend him, we’ve been on many excursions and he has been the best around of any trip! We got to see so many different animals and up so close, it was an amazing experience! Couldn’t recommend a place more, especially close to Cape Town made it easy for us to experience a safari!

It's a great way to get up close and personal with many big game animals, including buffalo, elephants, giraffes, lions, rhinos, hippos etc.
The room and facilities were excellent although it's a late check in and an early check out, so you don't spend a lot of time in the room.
The food service is buffet style and perfectly adequate given the volume of folk being served. We never struggled to get a table. The bar was fine.
You have to remember that it's a game reserve and you're not driving around the wild, so everything is in a relatively small area. That does mean that you can sometimes see the animals from your room!
Overall, a fabulous low cost way to get up close to some wonderful beasts!

The day is very long with very limited time in the actual game reserve.
The trip is only a taste of what a real game reserve is. Felt very staged and fixed, animals left a little guided to be available to view. Felt a little like a large scale zoo.
Children absolutely loved it, and a great experience for them as their first visit with nothing to compare it too.
Max our ranger was fantastic and very friendly and informative

I’ll be the review that I needed to see for booking this especially due to the price I paid. The atmosphere is beautiful, you take a 2hr drive if coming from Capetown to a spa style “resort” you eat and the head to your safari which is in there “backyard” lol saying that bc it’s literally right there (planned nicely) the food was maybe 5/10 and the amenities offered while waiting for safari to start are none, you have to pay for your drinks but they provide free cup of wine or non-alcoholic drink. The safari was maybe 1hr 30mins but they stop in the middle for bath room break in my opinion was just used to waste time, you do see animals of course but my expectations were not met here but you live and you learn. Overall experience was 6/10.
