great fun for the 10 of us, would have been 5 stars except there was no snorkel equipment or blue tooth speaker as advertised. Tony was great instructor.

Good morning,

I had the worst experience with this company. I had booked the Private Donut Island brunch activity for $176.65 to celebrate my birthday with my company. Unfortunately, my activity was canceled twice due to technical problems. I informed them of my wish to be reimbursed but at present I have not received any reimbursement and the icing on the cake, they are unreachable.

The boat did not have a blue tooth speaker as advertised. Had I of known I would have brought my own.

Octopus Donut Boats are GARBAGE, and the company itself has ZERO integrity.

Had a 10 person donut boat reserved for a special experience to celebrate a friend’s 40th. But 3 days before our rental the company emailed saying they had to push back our 11am start time to 12pm due to “equipment difficulties “.

Interesting choice of words 3 days before our rental. I didn’t realize itvwas possible to predict “equipment difficulties “ with such accuracy, as you will soon hear.

So the day of our rental we checked in at 1140am for the now 12pm departure for our 3 hr experience. Unfortunately our Donut Boat didn’t arrive until 1230pm because according to Tony (the Octopus employee in charge of the donut boat), he said he was out late the night before and running late for work.

Then, while providing on-board instructions on the rules of the waters and how to use the boat, the motor died. As a result we started drifting further and further out past the outer marker buoys they didn’t want us to go past.

A small dingy arrived with another Octopus employee, but after 15 more minutes of them NOT being able to keep the motor running and it now being almost 1pm, I asked to be towed back to shore so we could get off the boat and get refuned our money.

Upon reaching the beach the Octopus employees said they’d already called their home office and told them abouty Donut Boats “equipment difficulties” and I would be getting a full refund.

Next I was asked to call their office, which I did. Then asked to email a description of my experience to them and I would be immediately refunded. So i sent the email.

It’s now been 3 days since Octopus failed to provide me with a refund, they’ve stopped responding to my emails altogether, and when someone at their office answers the phone all they tell me is they need management approval from RICARDO to give me my refund. But as of now, some 84 hrs after their boat broke, I haven’t received ant refins whatsoever.

So I very strongly suggest you avoid Octopus altogether and use one of the many other more reputable companies for water activities in Aruba.

Horrible experience! Had our reservation changed the day before due to double booking. No snorkeling equipment or Bluetooth as advertised. We stopped for a swim and the anchor would not hold the boat in place. We got back in the boat and the motor wouldn’t start. We were drifting out in the ocean, no one answering our calls or messages. My husband started swimming to shore. Finally able to flag a boat down to get us help. Help arrived 20 mins later. My husband had still not made it to shore. Tony from the Octups company came in a rescue boat, he had difficulty getting the motor started and the rescue boat picked up my husband. We were out for an hour and had it reserved for 2. We requested a refund and it was rejected. Looks like we weren’t the only ones that have had a similar experience. Please read these reviews and DO NOT book an excursion with this company!!

Our boat driver Roger was from the Netherlands and an absolute prince of a captain. We are a family of 4 and he took us to the most amazing snorkeling sites for seeing beautiful fish. We even managed to squeeze in a quick dive above to WWII scuttled German battleship which was incredibly huge!

They cancelled our reservation 10 min before stating engine trouble and rescheduled next day where they did not show up at appt time kept calling they finally came hour late no snorkel equipment the umbrella broken and the engine died, run for this price of crap company

What a big disappointment our time was . There was already someone on the boat and we had to trade seats on the dingy !! So the donut was not clean , no snorkel gear, trash wasn’t emptied , we didn’t get our full time and worst of all the donut was anchored in shallow water in front of the Ritz !!! No fish at all !!! Sent letter to main office for compensation and still one week later , no response

Terrible customer service. Boat didn’t work. Motor wouldn’t start. They got us a much smaller boat but at that point we missed over an hour. There were no life vests as advertised. And no light on boat even though the time frame allows for past sunset.
Use another company for fun. This is an expensive joke of an activity. Many other companies that do a better job and have proper equipment.
