Your afternoon will be well spent learning the ancient art of mosaic-making. Following an introductory lesson about the techniques of Roman mosaics; you will practise the principles of texture, composition, marble tile cutting and, to make your own piece of mosaic to take home. We are looking forward meeting you here at 2pm.

Learning to cut tiles and design a unique piece of art for myself. The experience was fun and educational. Learning the ancient art of mosaic tiles was a unique and unusual time way to see a part of Rome that most won't see.

A very fun and educational experience. Alex and Andreana were great teachers and showed us examples of beautiful mosaics and described the different techniques. We were given many patterns to choose from and colors of mosaic marble tiles to use. It was a fun process learning to complete our mosaics. Definitely recommend!!!

Aleks and Juliana were kind, and helpful. The history of their shop was interesting, and it was good fun to spend a couple of hours learning about, and practicing the art of ancient mosaic-making. And to go home with an authentic souvenir!

This was such an interesting and fun way to spend the afternoon. Alex and Giuliana(?) (I think-sorry if incorrect) were great, they taught us about the different types of mosaic, focusing on the ancient way, there were beautiful examples of very good work all around the studio, it's amazing what you can achieve with little pieces of marble and glass - with a lot of practice!
Then we got to play, picking out a design and learning to cut the marble to the shapes we needed. We worked steadily throughout the time period, and our lovely hosts were very accommodating and allowed a bit more time to make sure we all got a finished piece. A very special souvenir from Rome that we will treasure forever.

Making a memorable piece of mosaic art that we will be able to keep and look back at, to remind us of the wonderful experience that we had there in Rome!! Learning about ancient mosaic, and the modern mosaic art was very interesting.
