Leave Amsterdam behind for a few hours and discover the typical Dutch countryside outside the capital. You'll drive through a picture-perfect landscape crisscrossed with canals, see authentic wooden houses, windmills and fishing villages, and witness traditional crafts from days gone by.

The picturesque village of Zaanse Schans is famous for its original buildings, vividly capturing Dutch life in the 17th and 18th centuries. Much like the World Heritage Kinderdijk, this town is lined with classic Dutch Windmills.

Experience the old Dutch life in Volendam and Marken with an abundance of inside information from your guide. You'll see the historic shipyard and windmills. Visit a shoemaker who works with wood and watch his clog-making techniques first-hand!

Opt for the Charm of Holland tour option to experience the best of old Holland in a small group, with all of the all-in option inclusions plus lunch at a traditional Dutch fishing restaurant. This luxurious tour departs every Friday!

It was one of the best day trips I have ever taken. The bus driver, Stefan and guide, Tony were knowledgable and entertaining - plenty of life music on this bus. It was a full day and they accommodated me when I couldn’t go into one windmill due to an allergy. Cannot recommend them high enough. We came back and booked another trip with this company straight away.

This tour included seeing the Windmills, local cheese tasting, as well as Stroopwafel and Wooden Clog demonstrations. I’m glad this tour was offered because I don’t think I would’ve been able to organize this myself. It did seem to be fast paced but you will definitely have time to eat, buy souvenirs and enjoy the scenery. One note I’d like to make is that there was no toilet on the bus. I did another tour with the same company and the bus for the other tour had a toilet but I think it was because the drive to that destination was much longer. another note I’d like to make is that this tour was rather full so definitely schedule ASAP. Unfortunately I don’t remember the names of my guides or driver but they were excellent!

We booked all-inclusive option and had a great time visiting saw windmills. Tour guides were friendly.

My only complaint was the walk to the cheese factory was very long. We had disabled people in our party who had a hard time. We should have been informed ahead of time.

My issues with this tour are less about the itenerary, and more about the execution. The tour guides, both at the ticket office and at the attractions, walk so fast that we could not keep up. They took no interest in this fact. The literature says to meet at the ticket office and be guided to the bus "across the street". The bus was in a lot at least a six or seven minute walk from the ticket office. Not my definition of "across the street". Also, if you don't buy the more expensive tour, be prepared to be treated like a second class citizen, and be prepared for at least a half mile hike in Volendam from the bus parking area to the center of town - with a guide who walks like the wind and doesn't check to see if you're keeping up with him or not. The windmills, while a tourist trap, are scenic and interesting. The wooden shoe factory was not that interesting, to be honest. The presentation at the cheese factory lasted about 4 minutes, and I could have told you all the information that was presented. The "cheese tasting" was the whole group crowded into the retail store trying to grab as many 1/16" cubes of cheese as they could. An activity that anyone could participate in while in any of the 14,000 cheese stores in the Netherlands. I guess I expected something more than that. I'm glad that I took this tour, but was underwhelmed by many of its elements.

Was a good day out and enjoyed it. Were not at the one place for too long either which is good because some other tours leave you at the one spot for too long and you end up waiting around.

Absolutely highly recommend! We travelled with our two daughters aged 19yo and 12yo. Stef, Augustine and Miriam were fabulous. Their information was outstanding , interesting and engaging! We are leant so much about the Netherlands, the windmills, how to make clogs and how to make cheese with a cheese tasting! Amazing day - this is a must do tour and would do it again!

This is a good tour for the money. Yes, it's on the big side (up to 80 people on a double-decker bus ) and sometimes it's hard to keep up with the guides. But our primary guide did a very good job. Fluent in several languages and very knowledgeable. This tour gets you out of Amsterdam to see a bit of the countryside. The 3 stops were good with something to see at each place (windmills, cheese making & wooden shoe manufacturering).

I liked the places. The group was way too large. The two languages at a time was very confusing. We spent allot of time waiting for the 70 other to join us. We were herded like cows. Easy enough to get a smaller bus and another guide and it would be 5 stars. Lunch should also be around lunch time. 4pm is way to late. Tickets said we would be back by 5 I had other plans for dinner. I would of planned it later if you were honest about the time. Guide really tried you put her in a bad circumstance.
