Tjin’s Toko and Rudy’s Stroopwafel were incredible! I am truly heartbroken there are no Surinamese restaurants in Toronto.

We had a fun time checking out the various food sites. And, the owners/greeters/servers were each so welcoming and helpful. Plus, we enjoyed the ‘story’ behind each of the places.

Had a wonderful food experience at the Pijp. Very comfortable to have self-guided tour if you want to walk in your own speed and experience things on your own. Everything was very clear at guide as adress is linked to maps so the only thing you need id wifi to open google maps. All food stalls were open and I was doing tour on Monday. Stalls are located near each other so I just started tour at the beginning of market and walked till the end. It's a great guide if you want to try Dutch food from locals. I highly recommend it, moreover in the end of guide there are extra recommendations for lunch/dinner.

We accessed this tour through the I amsterdam City Card but honestly, we would have purchased it anyway! It's so nice to be able to go at your own pace and the PDF guide is very informative. We went on a Friday and were able to visit the first 6 stalls on the guide as we were full towards the end, but it seemed like everything was open that day. If you're not a pre-travel researcher, this would be a great thing to do at the top of your trip, especially to see if you like Surinamese food (we did and ended up getting more later on in our trip). I'd say go closer to the middle of the day rather than the end, but even at just before 5pm (when the stalls close), you can get the full experience.

This was a wonderful experience! I had to call to find out how to download the instructions and Rachael was really friendly and helpful. It made me feel like a friend was giving me the local lowdown. The PDF has lots of interesting information about each stop. And all the places knew the special order so it was easy.
I loved getting to explore De Pijp and want to go back. All the food was delicious, especially the fresh stroopwaffels. We were very full and ready for a nap. And I brought some things to take back to my apartment for snacks.

Purchased three tickets for this (obv could've bought just one but the site asks you tbh) and it started well but overall a poor experience.
1. Croquettes were lovely.
2. Surinamese nice.
3. Israeli ok. (each to their own)
4. 'We're closed' They were open but not serving Haring - couldn't see recommended replacement.
5. Closed.
6. Closed.
7. 'Never heard of this tour'
Gave up.
I hate leaving bad reviews but I couldn't recommend this. Take a walk down Albert Cuyp and sample at your own choice, if they're open.

This was really fun and you can really go at your own pace. Come back to things when you feel full etc. I thought it would be awkward to go to the counter and say I’m on a self guided food tour… not at all. All the shop keepers were super happy to see me and help me. So delicious so much fun. Maybe space it out a little cause there is a lot to eat.

As its name implies, it is a self guided tour. You get a PDF with 7-8 stops for food within the market. It was a fantastic introduction to some of the Dutch street food and we loved sampling all the food. The kids always wanted to buy croquettes once they tried it.

This activity is set up VERY well! It was easy to follow the PDF and the shops were great. Be wary of your timing to be sure to get to each location before they close!
