Beautiful and expansive museum with a little bit of everything for everyone. Make sure to allow a lot of time here- there’s more there than you can see even in a day! We bought the regular admission tickets with no add/ons- we never would have had time for them. Get there when they open, too. The museum is easily accessed by subway which makes it convenient.

I haven't been to the Museum of American History since I was a child in Public School and I must say that I'm STILL IMPRESSED!!! The exhibits are exquisite and better than ever!!! Now my family is able to enjoy the same experience I did as a child!!! We'll be back to visit the Hayden Planetarium next time!!!

Very large and interesting museum. A bit old school in its presentation. Would’ve been nice to have audiovisual explanation or a tour guide. We enjoyed the mammals exhibit more than the dinosaurs.

It was sooooo crowded we could not even get close to many of the exhibits and finally left without-better to go anytime other than holiday weeks.

We had a Vougher. The note said to make a reservation with the musuem for entry and you may experience a brief wait. We arrived and all lines went around the blocks 1 hour to 1 1/2 wait just to get to security. We were not prepared for a long wait. So we did not go in. We have requested a refund, hoping it happens.

Utterly utterly chaotic and busy. We knew it would be busy during the holidays but we feel completely ripped off paying for tickets even with our discount. Pre-arranged time slots are not adhered to, multiple lines for different entries all around the block. We waited over an hour to just get into the building. Laughable excuse for security too, which is funny considering another entrance apparently doesn’t have any at all?

Inside was surely over capacity, bottlenecks everywhere which just felt dangerous and claustrophobic. Entire place teeming with screaming kids, never have I ever been to such a noisy museum anywhere else in the world. Staff did nothing to remedy this, the ones we interacted with had such rotten attitudes. So many exhibits need extra tickets, while the others are hilarious excuses of artefacts with a majority being remakes and not originals. So many of the ‘scenes’ were just painted plastic, why is this considered one of the best museums in the US? Nothing vaguely authentic or worth the price. Would’ve potentially enjoyed more had we actually been able to walk around freely. Incredibly warm and weird smells all around too.

Giving 2/5 purely off the planetarium show which we did pay extra for. Again this was awfully organised and behind schedule, but the show itself was immersive and interesting.

Genuinely would not ever wish to return to this place nor would I recommend for anyone else. We’ve lodged a chargeback with our credit card company because the experience was just awful.

Totally unorganised and incredible rude and unhelpful staff. Avoid. So many more things to do in this great city.
We booked a ticket through the pass for a set time. Still had to queue over an hour to get the ticket I had ordered. No one telling you what to do or what is going on. The man checking tickets was the most unfriendly rudest person I’ve ever met. Totally ruined the whole experience. I’d never come back and certainly wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

This is my favorite museum in NYC, just ahead of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhibits are fascinating and beautiful. This is a science museum, but the animal displays themselves are works of art. Ticket lines can be long, though.

If you expect to recognize scenes from the movie “Night at the museum” from 2006 with Ben Stiller as the night watchman, you’ll be greatly disappointed. Nothing is even close. But the museum is really spectacular and holds a lot to interesting exhibitions.
