Amazing flight and excellent customer service. The ground crew Kai, Chelsea and I forgot the other ladies name (sorry!) were all incredible. All were very friendly and laid back yet all the safety expectations and instructions were very clear. They also took great care of our elderly family members with more limited mobility.
The flight itself was nothing short of incredible. For work I’ve flown in and worked around the same type of Astar helicopters Air Kauai uses and I could tell our pilot Adam was very skilled at flying. He got us spectacular views of Waimea canyon, the Na Pali coast, the crater of Waialeale and so much more. Adam was also just as stoked as we were to check out all the awesome geology and ecology of the island from the air. So much fun!
Hats off to the great folks at Air Kauai. They do a fantastic job and I highly recommend this tour, especially with the doors off!

This was best adventure we did on Kauai! There are no words or photos for that matter, that apply capture the spectacular scenery of Kauai. Many parts of this island are inaccessible and can only be seen from the air. Air Kauai has the best safety record in Hawaii and Captian Adam was a true professional, cautious of other traffic and a good tour guide.

My wife and I had an amazing experience. We were lucky enough to sit in the front of the helicopter next to the pilot. The pilot kept us entertained and laughing the whole time, and made us feel like his personal family guests. Obviously the views of all the major sites are nothing less than spectacular. We highly recommend Air Kaua’i!

We had a hard time finding the location (viator sent us to the wrong address) but the team at Air Kauai was so helpful to get us back on the right path. Everyone was great to work with. Uncle Steve was a great guide. We loved every bit of it! Had us all grinning ear to ear, lots of laughs. The music he added to the fight was a nice touch too. We had a blast and would definitely come back!

Don’t book in advance if weather forecast is not great. They will tell you why it’s so great to go on rainy and cloudy days so they can get their revenue but it’s just not. It’s a rougher ride, you can’t get good pics in the rain through the windows, and for the price it’s just not worth not giving yourself the best experience. We begged them to let us postpone (not a refund) to two days later and they said no.
One thing I found annoying relative to other sightseeing flights was that they don’t have microphones in the headsets so you’re stuck for an hour not talking to anyone in your group or getting to ask any questions to the pilot. You just sit there and let the pilot tell you things for an hour. So if he’s not entertaining it gets old. We filled up four barf bags on the trip so take dramamine on rough days.

Having done helicopter and flight tours before this one was the worst. Weather was awful and we called the day before seeing if they would push to the next day saying it was the pilot’s call. We begged them to change since we’d spent $1600 and this was not going to be a worthwhile experience in these conditions. We’ll, they went, we couldn’t see so much of the island, the window was leaking rain on me the whole trip, the windows were too wet with rain to take good pictures and the bad weather made for a crappy ride where two of the six puked multiple times. And then they wanted us to tip the pilot (the one who made the decision despite our pleading to change). They then tried to sell us a video where you couldn’t clearly see anything (rain and clouds were bad). Then their hype guy, that was trying so hard to make it seem awesome, started bad mouthing us on the way out.
Two pieces of advice:
1. use a different company than Air Kauai
2. It’s a beautiful island but don’t go unless there is great weather. They are trained to tell you how great it is when there is bad visibility but it sucks compared to great weather.
